Finished Night Sky Quilt! June 28, 2014. Last January, I finished my version of Julie Herman’s Night Sky Quilt. You can read my previous posts about the inspiration. I sent the top off to Teresa of Quilting is my Bliss. To be quilted and she did an AMAZING job. Get ready for lots of pictures! Einstein decided to be part of my photo shoot! She quilted a couple of different designs in the stars. I used a few of my leftover strips for the backing. I just love this quilt! The colors are so cool! Wow…th...

Disco Quilt Top - Quiltineering

April 8, 2014. Over the following weeks, we passed emails, gchats, and texts back and forth discussing fabric and size options (goodness knows, we don’t use our phones to CALL people anymore). Truth be told: I was so excited about making this quilt that I may have harassed him a bit until we had all the details worked out! He has always been incredibly encouraging of my quilting ventures, but wanting a quilt was a first, and I wasn’t about to let that go unnoticed. Without further delay: Disco Quilt Top!

Thursday, July 3, 2014. Quilt along. I joined up in May and got a great partner Lin. She blogs over here. Here are my July blocks one for me and one for Lin. Two of the same. One for each of us. Here is Lin's block that she made for July. I borrowed from her blog. I can't wait until it arrives. I just love the pencils. Below is the June block that I sent to Lin on the left and the one she made on the right. Again I borrowed this from Lin's blog. I think they look pretty awesome together.

Pie Lady Quilts: The Lovely Woods
http://pieladyquilts.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-lovely-woods.html
Wednesday, February 4, 2015. I am participating in a blogger spotlight coming up and was asked the question, "Why did you start your blog? It's a difficult question, but I guess the most honest answer would be because I feel like I have more to say. Posting a picture of a quilt on a platform like Flickr or Instagram is part of it, but my blog gives me the chance to tell the rest of the story. This quilt is a story. Several of them, actually. Whose woods these are I think I know. This quilt finishes at 96...

Sunday Stash…the haul – Smiles Too Loudly

WIPs – The List. Sunday Stash…the haul. May 18, 2014. May 18, 2014. Lately I’ve received my fair share of fabric (ok, maybe a little more), and I thought I’d show it off. Mostly, because my wonderful husband got me a new camera for my birthday.😀 And what else do you photograph to practice but fabric? By no means are these the best images in the world – but, they’re better than fuzzy iPhone photos. Or maybe that’s the birthday cake talking…. Catnap, by the amazing Lizzy House, from Hawthorne Threads.

Saturday, May 16, 2015. From Hell to Breakfast: Blogger's Quilt Festival. Quilting has made me much more observant. I notice things now that I never used to. I notice how the windows in the Habitat ReStore near our house make the most fascinating, asymmetrical log cabin quilt blocks. I notice colors and shapes in the landscape.and I notice public places where I could take some great quilt photos! It turned out to be a great place to get a photo of my husband! The back is pieced with the scraps I had left...

Fresh Dew Drops: Looking Glass: A pattern tested - Hop and giveaway
http://fresh-dew-drops.blogspot.com/2014/11/looking-glass-pattern-tested-hop-and.html
Monday, November 24, 2014. Looking Glass: A pattern tested - Hop and giveaway. It was a lot of fun testing Looking Glass for Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs. The hardest part of the whole process - choosing fabric. Finally, I settled on Elementary by Sweetwater and decided to make the lap size. This quilt is to be for my youngest little boy, and I think Elementary is a good fit for a young boy and the lap size big enough to take him out of toddler years (I hope:). Cheryl did an awesome job writing a clear ...
