Journey to Linux Development: June 2009
http://linuxdevjourney.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Journey to Linux Development. From weekday Microsoft .Net developer to Open Source contributor. Tuesday, 30 June 2009. Contrary to popular belief. I have had a brief amount of time to have a look at Bazaar. Which looks as though it allows you to write apps for Android in Python - something which is of real interest to me - so I may have to spend some time looking into that. Anyway, keep watching for more posts shortly (honest). Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ubuntu 9.10 - Karmic Koala.
Journey to Linux Development: November 2008
http://linuxdevjourney.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Journey to Linux Development. From weekday Microsoft .Net developer to Open Source contributor. Saturday, 29 November 2008. And that's why I love python! Well for the last few weeks I've been hacking away with C whenever I get some free time which although interesting has been tedious, after all having to remember when you're passing pointers, references or values gets to be a pain real quick. Names file = open("names.txt", "r"). Names = names file.read().replace('"', ' ).split(','). And there we have th...
Journey to Linux Development: What a Git!
http://linuxdevjourney.blogspot.com/2009/03/what-git.html
Journey to Linux Development. From weekday Microsoft .Net developer to Open Source contributor. Sunday, 22 March 2009. Unfortunately I've not been able to do much with my mono algorithm. Project lately since publishing the first piece of code which is a shame, the plan though is to start implementing different algorithms starting with some from the C STL. In the end I've restricted myself to Subversion. Anyway, I'll need to pick up Subversion soon but I think I'll be investigating the distributed systems...

Journey to Linux Development: Thank the stars for the STL
http://linuxdevjourney.blogspot.com/2009/04/thank-stars-for-stl.html
Journey to Linux Development. From weekday Microsoft .Net developer to Open Source contributor. Tuesday, 21 April 2009. Thank the stars for the STL. The C Standard Template Library is something which I've been taking for granted lately but every once in a while something happens that makes you stand back and appreciate the functionality it provides. Today was one of those days. Maybe not the most interesting of posts but I felt the need to share :). Note: only a member of this blog may post a comment.

you | Shrewd Mammal
https://shrewdmammal.wordpress.com/you
You are a citizen of the world. You are a member of the human race. You ARE responsible. Who knows, but reason is something WE create for ourselves, let YOUR reason be a good one. You can look at as many teachings by as many different wise people as you like, personally I look to Jesus but wherever you look, in the end, the final analysis points to love. I am not talking about the hippie “free love” thing (that’s probably your mind working over time! 2 Responses to "you". August 13, 2008 at 12:34 am.

Things that make you go hmmmm. How much does this government have to do…. Posted by: Shaun Turner. On: October 15, 2008. Before we as a nation actually start to take action? If the whole “we want 42 days” was not enough, now the STASI like control freaks in the government want to make a further, more invasive and frankly abhorrent move into YOUR privacy. Reported by the State Broadcasting Corporation here. And investigating absurd complaints! Great, just great – what happened to privacy? Yeah, not collec...

How much does this government have to do…. The BBC and wanting the world to fail. Things that make you go hmmmm. Posted by: Shaun Turner. On: October 14, 2008. OK so the Lords did a grand job of kicking the 42 day thing into touch and slapping the Police State in the face. Bravo for Democracy….for now. What worries me (and I know you might think I subscribe to the Alex Jones theory of the world but I don’t, honestly! But on reading this link. Our Home Secretary Jacqui Smith. Things that make you go hmmmm. While Rome burns #2. The BBC and wanting the world to fail. Posted by: Shaun Turner. On: October 11, 2008. Is it me or do the BBC seem like they WANT financial armageddon. Watching the news today and for the past few weeks it feels like all the news crew at Bush House are having ecstatic episodes over the whole credit crunch/recession/failure thing. Maybe that is what they want! Are they that naïve to think that their constant blathering about the minutiae of the stock mark...

Holiday over now…. I guess I will be using Royal Mail now…. UN Charter – a revision. Posted by: Shaun Turner. On: August 14, 2008. Here below is a copy of the UN Chart of Human Rights and, I have marked the ones I think we as a country (The UK) do not meet now or, will not meet if we pass upcoming legislation….an interesting article…. 8230;(I have crossed out the bits I think do not apply to us and noted why). Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration. We have been...

I'm currently still working on all of this (shockingly) and I'm waiting to get hold of a book for Android development. But for now I thought I'd post a quick update to try out GoogleCL (http:/ code.google.com/p/googlecl/), seems quite nice as a command line tool to access your google services :). Links to this post. LinuxDevs
Sunday, June 29, 2008. Have you gotten Linux to play with AD? I would be interested to hear about Linux implementations in which Linux successfully coexists with Microsoft Active Directory. I have seen postings about AD4Linux and other solutions, but there are always unanswered questions. 1) Will these work when numerous different Linux distros are to authenticate as clients on Windows 2000 or 2003 Active Directories? 2) How comprehensive is the support? File sharing, printing, e-mail authentication, etc.
