Monday, July 30, 2007. Glacier Melt in Austria. We spent the last week running rivers in the Oetz valley and the Engadine valley kayaking, hanging out and enjoying the Alps. Saturday, June 07, 2008. It took us two days to drive from Switzerland to Norway. We went straight to the Telemark region to get in some paddling. The rivers were just beginning to drop down to manageable levels, though there was still a lot of snow pack high in the mountains. One of many fun slides on the Goyst. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. This past weekend close to Underberg on the Umzimkulu river Thrombi X-Fest. Occurred. It was the 7. Annual X-fest and it consists mainly of downhill mountain biking and kayaking. Fastest time and making it to the finals on Sunday. All of the top eight paddlers raced down the course at the same time. This caused some carnage on a couple of the rapids but made for great spectating. Mark was one of the unlucky racers to be run over, and finished in eighth place.
