The Liquid Gold Project. Is a grass-roots initiative, focused on increasing platelet donations through education and opportunity. We would like to encourage a one-time act of charity (donating platelets) into becoming a cultural gift of life on a regular basis. That they are having an immediate impact in saving lives as well. Currently, there is an estimated 50% shortage in platelet supply, versusthe need (demand), within the state of Alabama. Blood Platelets are being imported from surrounding states.
