Fiber Rhapsody: Now We are Six
http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2012/10/now-we-are-six.html
A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Now We are Six. Saturday morning, it was off to the Fiddle Scouts, a newly created music program by The Ten Pound Fiddle. Kids get hands on opportunities to learn about instruments and music. This month's program was on drums. What 6 year old doesn't like drums? Next month's program is about Ukuleles and one of Cubby's favorite people is going to be the "Scout Master". Happy birthday, Cubby! October 17, 2012 at 9:48 AM.
Fiber Rhapsody: Past, Present and Future
http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2012/11/past-present-and-future.html
A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Monday, November 19, 2012. Past, Present and Future. Past - Here's a quilt top 5 years in the making (60" x 60"). I finally finished it at Cindy's Up-North Quilt Retreat. Baptist Fans keep calling out to me for the quilting. I don't think I want to hand quilt it though. Not sure how I would go about it on the machine. Future - not very far away now-unless you're 6 years old - then it's forever! Love the quilt top. Baptist fans would be lovely. The Co...

Fiber Rhapsody: March 2011
http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Sunday, March 20, 2011. And Claire went off early Saturday morning to Vet-a-Visit at MSU. 160;They had fun seeing the animals. Cubby. Said his favorite was seeing a horse on a treadmill. He wasn't interested in sticking his hand inside the see-thru cow though. He got a little stuffed cow and had a personal consultation with the vet. Most kids said their animals had broken legs or sore tummies. Cubby. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Here are the pieces pinne...
Fiber Rhapsody: Steampunk Bunny
http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2014/03/steampunk-bunny.html
A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Monday, March 10, 2014. Here is a little Steampunk bunny that I fell in love with at the Kalamazoo Show. I'm sorry I didn't note the quilter but I really appreciate her work. The whole piece was tiny,. Maybe 8 x 8" or 10 x 10". When I think of Steampunk, the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes comes to mind. My other thought is Jack the Ripper's East End of London. I haven't watched Dr Who but I think that fits this category also. This quilt is darling!

http://lavender-pie.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. This summer so my vine did exceptionally well. The leaves are mottled white on green thus the name Variegated Porcelain Vine. A full view of the Variegated Porcelain Vine. I made the copper pipe trellis. Close up of the berries. Although this picture is true to color, you really need to see these incredible berries in real life. Don't you just love the colors of the berries. I want jewelry made from beads in these colors. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. It's Just Another New Year's Eve. Today is the last day of what has been a year of many ups and downs, good times and bad, new beginnings and sad endings. For New Year's Eve, I celebrated at home with Ruth, Lisa, Carol Se, and Alanna. We enjoyed lots of good food and beverages and a short game of Chicken Scratch. Happy New Year to you! Here is a link to a New Year's Eve song by Barry Manilow, quite appropriate.enjoy! Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Monday, December 22, 2008.
quilts and kids: Too Busy??????
http://kuhlquilter.blogspot.com/2012/10/too-busy.html
Keeping in touch with family and friends. Wednesday, October 10, 2012. My latest hand piecing project. Adding some solid black strips randomly when you piece the blocks together would make it look like a stained glass window and might give more definition to the blocks. Quilting B: June 2015
http://quiltybeard.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. I have a new co-worker now, Marie Gordon. Marie seems to be a very active gardener. She started telling me back in March about "winter sowing" to start your seeds. Just put them in a container of soil and set outside until spring. So for the first time in years I decided to try starting seeds instead of just buying transplants. Here are a couple of shots of my "garden" this year. I just container garden because then I can put the plants where they get the most sun. One of the mor...

Monday, September 27, 2010. Chihuly at Meijer Garden Part Five - Final. After our refreshing lunch we ventured back outside into the heat and humidity. This last part of the tour took us along the boardwalk and the large wetland area. Enjoy the last of the Chihuly exhibit. This is one of three frog statues in the woods along the boardwalk. This is my favorite one with bug on his nose. Hey, a real turtle! The big wetlands with its green algae. Finally we found some great Chihuly art. This part of the Chih...

Friday, November 27, 2009. Thanksgiving with Xander and Jessica. H1N1 has taken its toll on many people including me several weeks ago. This past week it hit Terri, Rodney, Jackson and perhaps Madeline. Terri also has pneumonia. They are all on the mend after getting Tamiflu. But they could not be with us as planned for Thanksgiving. Grandma Dee had a smaller crowd than usual with just me, Mike, Doug, Xander. And Jessica. Jim and his family traveled to Escanaba. She is a real cutie. Had fun with Grandma ...

Quilts, Books, and Dogs. Friday, June 30, 2006. More VQF and Burlington. Ellen and the girls got in late afternoon. I drove them to register for the show and then to the Expo center to buy sweatshirts and to see their grandmother's quilt in the show. The six of us went to downtown Burlington for dinner at American Flatbread and for ice cream at Ben and Jerry's. We went down to Lake Champlain to watch the sunset and the boats. We all have classes early tomorrow morning so we're calling it a night. Today M...

lisabpowell – Thoughts From a Work in Progress
Thoughts From a Work in Progress. September 4, 2015. September 4, 2015. I think not. If you looked in to the eyes of a man or woman on the street and saw that expression how would you react? With sympathy and empathy? Would you offer a kind word and ask if you could help in some way? I’ll bet you would walk away as quickly as you could muttering about Pasadena letting all these crazy people live on the street. Or jump in your car and lock all the doors and tear out of the parking lot. August 17, 2015.
