Here's a bunch of dance series/festival/bands/callers we like and we think you should go and dance at/to (delete as appropriate). We're kinda biaised towards this one, as Charley our fiddle player runs it. Currently four events per year (guess when.) plus occasional one-offs at other times of year, but who knows. I had the fun of dancing to Albireo and Rhodri at a workshop at Broadstairs this summer just past and it was amazing. Not to be missed! For our February dance we have Blast from the Past. Isn't it annoying how some people can just do everything? You should go see them doing their music history shows too. In March we're looking forward to dancing to Bobbing Joe.

Friday, September 15, 2017. A couple of years ago in an effort to manage the stress of my newish job and caught up in the annual ritual of bettering oneself, I attempted to learn how to meditate. First I signed up for a free, introductory program promoted by Deepak Chopra and Oprah. I settled into a a relaxed but upright position in an easy chair and tried to follow along. To say it was a struggle is too mild. To sit in silence was hard. To try to be still? Next I found an app for my phone called Calm.
