The last couple of months have been some of the hardest for me, I think, for the past couple of years in Zim, and I have been reflecting a lot on how they fit into the whole story of my being here. 2011 was really hard when I first arrived, when Oasis was in lots of debt and the staff team had been greatly reduced, and we had rooms full of rubbish and rats and all sorts!

My adventures in Africa! Laquo; Grief diminishes you. I left my heart in Harare…. June 13, 2015. The past week has been awful. I have cried a lot every day, had no appetite and swung between hopeless misery and unaccepting disbelief. I know this is grief. I have walked through it at this level twice before. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden; it is easier to say ‘My tooth is aching’ than to say ‘My heart is broken.’. Why would God give a beautiful, beautiful boy to a couple who so longed for him, and then take him away after only two years? Was Sam’s life cut short? Back to the top.

Ten toi la lisa, toi la nguoi Canada. Monday, May 16, 2005. Sorry I haven't written in so long. My last 3 weeks in Dalat were busy with work and socializing and they flew by. I can't believe my time here is almost over. I presented my recommendations for curriculum to the department the week before I left and they seemed quite impressed! I'm happy that I was able to contribute what I could in such a short time. The people I worked with were amazing and I will miss them so much. I hope you are all well!
