The long and somewhat inconvenient story of why I'm in Barbados - A Globe Well Travelled
http://aglobewelltravelled.com/2015/08/07/why-im-in-barbados
Live an adventurous life through work and travel. The long and somewhat inconvenient story of why I’m in Barbados. August 7, 2015. I’m currently sitting in a beautiful little cottage on the south coast of Barbados. We booked it last week when organising our last minute trip to the Caribbean. At this very moment, I’m sitting at the table in the living area with my laptop in front of me and the open window allowing a warm breeze to flow through the room as I work. Sounds like a dream, right? The visa requi...

James Turrell in Norfolk – The Londoner. Best of the web. James Turrell in Norfolk. I’ve made a little pact with myself to explore more of the UK. Find more of what there is to do and see on our little island. James Turrell happens to be one of my favourite artists, so when I heard he had an instillation up in Norfolk, it felt like the perfect excuse for a weekend adventure. We hopped into the car after breakfast and made it up there around lunchtime. We climbed up through the house and into our bedroom.

Forget Your Wallet – The Londoner. Best of the web. I’m not really a cash girl. I always worry about losing notes, having pockets full of change and what on earth to do with loose coppers swimming around the bottom of my handbag. Whenever possible I pay by card and that way I find out what I’m spending and where, at the end of every month. I’d never really questioned this process, until recently. You know me, if something makes my life easier, I’m in! It’s safe to say I like it a latte. It’s barely...

A blog about Lena’s travels and adventures along the way. Streets of Kathmandu: from Durbar to Dumpsters. Streets of Kathmandu: from Durbar to Dumpsters. September 12, 2015. Come walk with me through the streets of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal! From historical sites and famous Hindu and Buddhist temples, to the city’s outskirts, where you hardly ever see any outsiders. Rickshaw “parking lot” (or chilling spot? My couchsurfing host Bimal in a traditional male’s Nepali hat. Brrrr:) Besides the fact that...

Were we’ve been. Vigelandsparken, Oslo, Norway. July 18, 2016. July 18, 2016. There was some dispute as to where his grand Fountain should be placed, but in the end it was agreed that it should be in the Frogner park. The other installations followed. Gustav Vigeland was in his time regarded as the most talented of Norwegian sculptors and had numerous commisions for sculptures and busts. If you ever visit Oslo, I reccomend a trip to the Frogner park, and the Vigeland park in particular. It is open al...

Wanderlist – Meadowhill and Mountain
https://meadowhillmountain.wordpress.com/were-we-want-to-go
Were we’ve been. We want to explore the world! Lazy days on the beach is not really our way of traveling. Nice to do once in a while, but not what drives us. In addition we are not overly found of humid heat (dry heat is much better) but we rather want to go in colder weather where that is a possibillity. Baltic countries; Estonia, Latvia and/or Lithuania, a weekend trip should be nice. Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourgh; the Benelux countries. Denmark; our closest neighbour in the south. Sweden; the n...
