http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Wefts: Woad blue and Natural. Wefts: Blue-green and yellow-green. Wefts: Red and Blue. The red in this one is the first time I have used a commercially dyed alpaca and boy has it gotten the attention! It does pop right out, especially where it combines beautifully with the indigo for the purples and the coreopsis for the burnt oranges. All three of these are on display at Flow. Sun moon and stars. Selinde's String Theory: SunMoonStars Success
http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2009/06/sunmoonstars-success.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Friday, June 19, 2009. Here she is - my first sample off the new loom! I have it folded over to show off the doubleweave reversability. I'm thrilled with it. It even puckered a little liked I'd hoped, from the pockets created between the layers. After I cut it off the loom, I just had to lie under it to try it out:. June 19, 2009 at 6:03 PM. Selinde, it is so beautiful! Congratulations and love, Dad. June 21, 2009 at 5:31 PM. June 23, 2009 at 1:21 PM. Jenny and ...

Selinde's String Theory: Weaving finally!
http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2009/05/weaving-finally.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. After what seemed like endless, back-breaking days of threading, I'm finally weaving! I knew that starting out with such a fine, hand-dyed wool warp would be asking for trouble, but when did that ever stop me? May 20, 2009 at 11:28 AM. I don't have any advice on the technical difficulties, but it is wonderful that you are weaving AND having fun despite the obstacles. Look forward to seeing more! May 20, 2009 at 6:16 PM. Selinde's String Theory: Does the Dark Matter, Indeed?
http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2012/02/quilting-meets-particle-physics.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Friday, February 24, 2012. Does the Dark Matter, Indeed? Does the Dark Matter? Materials: cotton, synthetics and silks. A physics magazine published by Fermilab, did an article about her as well. The medium through which those scientists express their investigations. As textile artists, quilting and weaving are the methods we choose to ply the same primal cord - where do we come from, where are we now, where are we going? And, does the Dark Matter? Does the Dark...

Selinde's String Theory: Hands with a Mind of their Own
http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2013/12/hands-with-mind-of-their-own.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Hands with a Mind of their Own. Painting is a completely different mental process. It completely clears my mind until I get to the point where I have no thoughts. I get the same charge from juxtaposition of colors as I do from juxtaposition of chords." Joni Mitchell. Here's something I recently wrote regarding the last pieces I wove off the latest warp. I really find pattern to get in the way of a good weaving. My imagery. And we...

Selinde's String Theory: Quantum Mechanics, Louis Armstrong and the Write Notes
http://selindelanier.blogspot.com/2011/11/quantum-mechanics-louis-armstrong-and.html
Textile designer, weaver and fiber artist. Thursday, November 24, 2011. Quantum Mechanics, Louis Armstrong and the Write Notes. One thing seems universally. Clear though from watching "Jazz" - Louis Armstrong was a phenomenon that only comes around once in a very long while, a Halley's Comet. Of the music world, if you will. In Episode 4, there is a wonderful comparison of his tendency to hold one note over the frenetic playing of his backup band to the way time stops as you reach the speed of light:.
