Wonderer: February 2010
http://lisapcv.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 2, 2010. My contribution to the table. Brownies and chocolate chip cookies amongst traditional Moroccan sweets for a holiday. A year, and hundreds of kilos of flour later, I find myself amazed (but should I really be? If this wasn’t enough for me, I just finished editing the “Breads” and the added “Cheeses” sections of the PC Morocco cookbook (email me if you’re interested in an updated copy of these sections). I have also started a food blog. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The contents of...
Wonderer: January 2010

Sunday, January 3, 2010. Happy Holidays from the Sahara. Staring into a sea of sand dunes, distinguishable only by the light of a half-full moon on a crisp night, I ponder my smallness. After all, isn’t this why we come out to such places? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am currently serving in Peace Corps, Morocco, as a small business developer working with artisans since September 2008. I have a Master of Fine Art, in studio art from Washington University in St. Louis. View my complete profile. Josh and ...
Wonderer: August 2009
http://lisapcv.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2009. I came into this country a lunar year ago, during the month of Ramadan. The specific smells and atmosphere of this special month bring back memories of those first weeks. I keep thinking of my first host family, whom I recently visited during my trip to Ain Leuh. Thursday, August 13, 2009. It is frustrating feeling helpless in this situation. What more could we have done? By comparison the Spring English Camp I was involved in worked so much better. The flip side of my camp ex...
Wonderer: From Market to Table: A Thanksgiving Sacrifice
http://lisapcv.blogspot.com/2009/12/from-market-to-table-thanksgiving.html
Wednesday, December 2, 2009. From Market to Table: A Thanksgiving Sacrifice. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Although I appreciate the religious significance of Christmas and Easter, Thanksgiving is relatively free of the headaches and expectations of gift-giving, but full of family and food (what more can I ask for? Of course this makes it doubly difficult to spend my favorite holiday so far away from those very comforts. L’Eid Kbir (remember this from last year? It was a bit hard to come by on the...
Wonderer: March 2010
http://lisapcv.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 3, 2010. We just switched some things around and had the women participate in the more visual part of the meeting (learning how to take photos of their products, reviewing the photos we had already gathered, etc.). A couple of the women seemed to really be into the process and I am confident that they will clear up whatever issue that we were having with their future attempts. Some have access to fresh milk from their own cows, so cheese making might be a great opportunity for them.

boon for the belly: Introduction
http://briboonbelly.blogspot.com/2009/03/introduction.html
Boon for the belly. Thursday, March 5, 2009. 8220;Eating with the fullest pleasure – pleasure, that is, that does not depend on ignorance – is perhaps the profoundest enactment of our connection with the world. In this pleasure we experience and celebrate our dependence and our gratitude, for we are living in mystery, from creatures we did not make and powers we cannot comprehend.”. Welcome to my new blog! As Michael Pollan wrote in. In Defense of Food. I have the greatest ease of access to the most impo...
Joy in Morocco: May 2010
http://joyinmorocco.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 13, 2010. Some rural Moroccan women have peculiar sense of fashion. There is the traditional jellaba. Souqs are flooded with clothes of modern appeal. However, more often than not, rural Moroccan women simply throw an old bed sheet or fuzzy blanket over their pajamas for a day "out in town." I s this resourcefulness or a fashion crime? Such was my delight when I arrived in the Souss region. Here, the women drape themselves with colorful mhlef. Color the Souss with playful hues of life.

Joy in Morocco: March 2010

Thursday, March 25, 2010. From time to time, I come across an individual's success story and think, " Efrita. It literally translates into "fiend." In Morocco, this term does not describe a demon or diabolically cruel person. It means someone who is highly skilled at something. It means someone who can move mountains. It means someone who is driven and can create change. It means beast. She's a beast. Tbark allah 3liha. Had a two-year partnership with the Association. They conducted numerous workshop...

Thursday, July 29, 2010. I have found that if you love life,. Life will love you back. Summer days have a wonderful way of dragging her feet. Days melt together into one drawn out thought. Life is a perpetual snooze mode. And I've tremendously enjoyed living in this unwound fashion! I have all the time in the world to savor precious moments in Morocco and cross off some to-dos. Wake me up in 100 or so days. What I have been occupying myself with:. Amartya Sen's Development As Freedom. I'm at a loss of wo...

Emily and Jon in Morocco. A Place Where Friends and Family Can Better Understand Our Experience in Morocco. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Fes and the South. The past couple of weeks have been full of traveling for us. We went to Fes during one weekend, and we spent about 9 days seeing Erfoud, Merzouga, Tinjdad, Tinhrir, and back north through Rich and Azrou. Just another WordPress.com weblog. The deal of a lifetime. September 16, 2011. Tomorrow we will be packing up our family up in our Mini van and heading to Birmingham Al. For my first ever book signing! Did I just write that? The deal of a lifetime isn’t in any contract or deal you can get from a human.or company. The deal was when I gave my life to Christ. Can I be honest when you look at those books below you are looking at a miracle you are looking at God. I had even forgotten that ever was an artist.
Blog That!
I am living up to my maxim of "take photos of random things 'cos sometimes you get what you want! Pie laughs at me. but it works! These were taken on a beach walk in Galway, it was a lovely day and trust me in Ireland you don't take those for granted. It's green for a reason. RAIN! I don't know what it is about rock that fascinates me, I think it's the variety of colour and shadow that you get. it's hard but so pretty at the same time. Posted by Lisa Pybus.
