Pass the Coffee...: January 2009
http://lisaward.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Musings of an iced coffee swigging, koigu-loving knitter (who has also been known to bead occasionally). Monday, January 19, 2009. What a week. First, today is MLK Day! I've had this song in my head for the past couple days. Next is the inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th president tomorrow. I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. He has brought hope to our country in a very unhopeful time. I hope that he's been eating his Wheaties, because he's got his work cut out for him.

Pass the Coffee...: February 2008

Musings of an iced coffee swigging, koigu-loving knitter (who has also been known to bead occasionally). Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Insert catchy post title here. Tank top from Norah Gaughan Design Collection, vol. 2. On my third start, I have about eight inches done. While I love this yarn, I don't know if I would recommend it. It is fairly treacherous to work with. I've spoken to several people on Ravelry who are also knitting Flow and they're all having problems with the yarn. How'd they do that?
Pass the Coffee...: March 2008
http://lisaward.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Musings of an iced coffee swigging, koigu-loving knitter (who has also been known to bead occasionally). Saturday, March 22, 2008. I usually keep quiet about my sports leanings because I don't want to jinx things, but my team, UCLA, just beat Texas A and M 53-49 after trailing by as much as 10 points in the second half. Oh yeah! It may be Easter but Christmas just came to Bruin-land. Woo Hoo! I'm now going to lie down in a darkened room for a while to try to return my heartbeat to a normal rhythm. Book w...
Pass the Coffee...: December 2008
http://lisaward.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Musings of an iced coffee swigging, koigu-loving knitter (who has also been known to bead occasionally). Tuesday, December 16, 2008. It Came Upon an Afternoon Clear. Picture this, if you will. Saturday, December 13, Burbank, California. The girl and I are shopping. It has finally cooled off and the temperature has dropped below 60 degrees (with sincere apologies to my peeps in the upper prairies where it is currently 40 below). What does this mean? Poorly executed spit splices? For moths. Moths are f...

http://dimsumknitting.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Tuesday, October 14, 2008. My Least Favorite Cast On. Lest you think I don't knit anymore (even though I don't seem to blog about it much), I have been making progress on Ariann. Look! She even has arms now. Unfortunately, it's not long-lived as temps are predicted to get back into the '90s this week. Ugh! Fall, where are you? Links to this post. Monday, October 06, 2008. Links to this post. Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Final Day of Fl00zy. Day 7 of our Fl00zy Cast On knitalong has come and gone. I realized I didn't show you my final official project, so here it is:. I managed to finish my first Fl00zy cast on project, Toasty. I'm waiting for the camera battery to charge so I can take a modeled FO picture of it. Pics to come soon! As soon as I bound off on Toasty, I cast on for a Mistake Rib scarf with some Lamb's Pride Bulky and Noro Kochoran.
Dim Sum Knitting: July 2008
http://dimsumknitting.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Pity Party is Over! I realized afterwards of course that my last post was such a whine-fest, and I apologize. The Pity Party is now officially over! I got tired of screwing up, so decided to buckle down and Focus with capital "F." That means, I put stitch markers in between the repeats on Liesl. To help me along. And it also means I stuck with Hanami. To show. It's Liesl. Cable Cotton in a plummy color, about 3.3 skeins. For the tack...
Dim Sum Knitting: A Few FOs and Stuff
http://dimsumknitting.blogspot.com/2009/01/few-fos-and-stuff.html
Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. A Few FOs and Stuff. That's right. Sitting in the front seat. He is gleeful with a capital G when he remembers and gets in. And then he loved that he could see so much through the front windshield, pushing all the buttons (remember. 12 or 2? I have some recent FOs to show. First up are the Toasty wristwarmers that were modeled by the lovely Annette. Yarn: Debbie Bliss Pure Cashmere, 3 skeins in green, leftover scraps in pink.

Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Thursday, March 27, 2008. Checking In and Checking Out. Links to this post. Thursday, March 20, 2008. It's time for that thoroughly unexciting Thursday WIP. Report where I show you my infinitesimal. Progress on knitting and my disproportionate amount of stash acquisition. This is the first of the Lenore socks I finished up this week. It fits mah. Over a tank, cami. Or snug long sleeve tee in the cooler months, so I don't want a lot of positive ease on this.
Dim Sum Knitting: September 2008
http://dimsumknitting.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Sunday, September 21, 2008. The Summer of Lace was my knitting group's latest knitalong. It started officially on the Summer Solstice and ended today, the Autumnal Equinox. Sounds cool, huh? I can assure you that I had nothing to do with tying it into the cool seasons. Me? I just try to knit according to the theme for the most part. In the middle of the Hanami drama (is that Hanama? Links to this post. Lacy skirt with bows. Friday, September 12, 2008. Befor...
Seraphina | Yarnification
http://yarnification.daisywreath.net/2007/06/07/seraphina-2
Playing with yarn in the middle of the night. Do you still love me even though I talk about knitting all the time and haven’t crocheted anything in months? How about if I quit talking about the knitting for a bit and show you this swatch? In the meantime, I need something to do here. While I caught up reading blogs, I saw Sara. Say the magic word: Seraphina. The other 50% of the problem? As a side note, that little voice also suggests that this color combination might possibly look like technicolor barf,...
Dim Sum Knitting: It's a Beautiful Day
http://dimsumknitting.blogspot.com/2009/02/its-beautiful-day.html
Every piece is made with a little bit 'o heart. Tuesday, February 10, 2009. It's a Beautiful Day. I started to title this post "Rain, Glorious Rain" only to realize that it should be followed up with "Sun, Glorious Sun." That made me think about how beautiful it is right now in Southern California. Sunny, cool crisp temps that make for perfect sweater weather. I just can't complain about it. It is a Beautiful Day, and I hope yours is too. By Wendy Bernard from Custom Knits. I finished my sister's socks a...

Tales from the Kitchen Table
Tales from the Kitchen Table. Wednesday, 13 April 2011. I think I am having a mid life crisis! Unfortunately, not the one that means I go out and buy a sports car or a motor bike, but the type where I am not sure what the hell I want to do with my life. Oh and I did write a book for NaNo, but that needs editing, I just keep picking it up and putting it back down again. I mean, if no-one wants to publish my articles, they won't want my book! Now, I am wanting to be a teacher! Links to this post. Thursday,...
