A number of years ago, Chic Voohris, a LISEC founding member and director emeritus, gave LISEC an SS sloop. The boat remained out on a rack in the boat house yard until January 2011, when LISEC Director Phil Schiavone offered to fund the restoration. The boat was moved into the boat shop and the assessment of what was needed to restore her for sailing was done. All ribs, deck frames, transom and stem needed to be replaced. The Finished SS Sloop.

Sika Quick and Dirty Boat Building Event. 2015s fifth annual boat build and race was held in August with seven teams joining in on the fun. Each year the boat designs get more varied and the painting more interesting. This years teams did not disappoint the crowds that lined the shore and pier to watch the races. 2014 Boat Building Projects Were a Huge Success

2015 had only one new build, an Adirondack Guide Boat. It is a challenging boat all made of strips attached to ribs. The Calendonia Yawl has turned into a sloop rig due to owners preference and will take close to two years till completion. The other project was a repair of a Kevlar Kayak.
