Little lost Annie's adventures in Azerbaijan. Thursday, October 22, 2009. This actually has more to do with the local European and English people I’ve encountered. Whenever we get into a discussion about something involved the metric system, so weight or distance, I always get the same question. They’ll be saying something like “well you get 5 liters to the ounce” and I respond, “I have no idea what that means… many ounces are in a gallon? It that America hasn’t switched to the metric system yet?

Little lost Annie's adventures in Azerbaijan. Sunday, October 11, 2009. The eternal joke here is that everything is under construction. I think once someone tried to give me directions with "the building that's under construction" and then they realized the fallacy of their statement. I like to think that it's indicative of the direction that Baku and Azerbaijan are moving in though. Most of the city is urban and modern and with continued construction, it can only continue to improve.
