Lucy's Cottage: Happy Halloween Everyone
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/10/happy-halloween-everyone.html
Saturday, 31 October 2015. Fire lit, pumpkin carved, peppermint tea steeping and a good book to read :). Apart from walking the dogs and carving pumpkins (I did one for our friends too), I've done NOTHING today. I feel guilty, but less tired as a result. Tonight we're having food from the freezer for our dinner and I'm going to do some warm spiced apple juice as neither of us wants to drink alcohol this evening. The fire is roaring and I'm ready to hibernate! Happy Halloween everyone,. Days of Quiet Refl...

Lucy's Cottage: November 2015
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 November 2015. One Cold November Day. This morning we wrapped up warm and took the dogs to Cod Beck Reservoir at Osmotherley - one of their favourite spots. While we shivered in the wind the dogs swam in the freezing cold water and had a ball of a time. It was good to breathe in the fresh air, smell the damp pine needles and watch the geese swimming and trying to avoid the dogs! Below are some pictures of our garden which I took this morning. The Autumn-flowering "mums" are glorious:). Today ...

Lucy's Cottage: November
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/11/november.html
Sunday, 1 November 2015. The tree outside our front door. Golden light is turning grey,. Mists begin to rule the day. Bare the trees their branches lift,. Clouds of dead leaves earthwood drift. Through the field the farmer goes,. Seeds of ripened corn he sows,. Trusts the earth will hold it warm,. Shelter it from cold and harm. For he knows that warmth and light. Love there, hidden from our sight,. And beneath a sheltering wing. Deep below new life will spring. 1 November 2015 at 07:06. I sort of have a ...

Monday, 27 July 2015. Today I'm feeling pretty rotten. I have a bad cold. So I decided to cheer myself up by taking some photos of some of our mustard yellow treasures. It is one of my favourite colours. I'm hoping to feel better and get back to proper blogging soon. Sunday, 19 July 2015. Camping in the Dales. Monday, 13 July 2015. Seashells and pebbles from Highcliffe. My beloved china terrier :). Some library books I took out last week. Another library book . Projects from the Brooches and Pins book.

Lucy's Cottage: Days of Quiet Reflection
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/10/days-of-quiet-reflection.html
Saturday, 24 October 2015. Days of Quiet Reflection. The view from our front door. But I'm tired . so tired. I work four days and those four days exhaust me. On my three days at home I try and spread out the chores in between bouts of resting, and often sleeping. Tonight Lovely Hubby and I are going to curl up on the sofa with hot water bottes - the fire is lit and the dogs are sleeping. And I'm pretty sure I have a bar of Green and Blacks dark chocolate somewhere waiting to be opened ! 24 October 2015 a...

Lucy's Cottage: More Gifts from the Allotment
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/10/more-gifts-from-allotment.html
Thursday, 8 October 2015. More Gifts from the Allotment. As you can see, we're still getting lots of lovely produce from the allotment - even strawberries, in October! They may be white but they are still ripe and sweet. I arrived home from work today to the wonderful aroma of lovely hubby making raspberry jam . He had already made two batches of raspberry gin! At the weekend we went sloe picking and managed to pick 10 pounds of berries between us! I hope you're all having a good week. Have a nice week,.

Lucy's Cottage: Hello Autumn
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/10/hello-autumn.html
Saturday, 3 October 2015. Today was the first proper Autumn day after recent days of sunshine and quite balmy weather. It was cool, it was misty and there were fallen leaves and conkers everywhere! I couldn't resist gathering a little collection to take some bright jolly pictures of. And it's not even teatime. I have to share this with you but vegetarians and vegans please look away now. We always buy bones from the butcher for our girls but look how much meat is left on these ones! Wow you have been a b...

Lucy's Cottage: August 2015
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 24 August 2015. I must apologise for my absence - I can't really believe it has been three weeks since I last blogged. My health has not been good and I haven't felt like writing about anything or taking photos - very unusual for me, I know. A freezer full of soups! Homemade stew, frozen spinach from the allotment, and other odds and ends packaged up and ready for meals. Unfortunately our biggest expense is alcohol, as we both enjoy a glass or two of wine. Even when we buy cheaper alcohol fro...
