Textual Healing: May 2014

Wednesday, May 28, 2014. On Being Poor (not to be confused with being "poor"). People seemed to like my last post about being unquestionably single to the highest degree. Wanna know what else I am? Unemployed. Being unemployed also makes me.poor! Curious about how I stay alive? Here is a list of how I stay clothed and fed:. I also spend this money irresponsibly on clothes and candy sometimes. 4) Occasionally people buy me meals. Basically, I know that if I go to breakfast with my running group on Sat...

Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Humans of Hamilton #4. Conversation with a man with a walker this morning. Man - It's hump day! I misunderstood what he said and replied. Man - No, hump day. Me: Oh, I thought you said it was a hot day. Then he lit a cigarette and proceeded to ask me what I was waiting for. Man - What bus? Me: Errr.the number 4. Man - Ah, the Bayfront. Me: Yep *checks phone for time*. He then coughed up a lung and walked away. Tales from the Hammer. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. My day began...

Textual Healing: Humans of Hamilton #5
http://websterslaw.blogspot.com/2014/10/humans-of-hamilton-5.html
Friday, October 3, 2014. Humans of Hamilton #5. After a man with long hair and a beard walked by in dirty clothes. He walked with purpose with blank expression on his face. The bus stop smelled like hot garbage. I stood with my coat over my nose to block it all out. There was a person on the bus carrying a large garbage bag of cans. Just empty cans. They clanged as she exited. Instead I stand at bus stops, hugging my purse and hoping I don't get harassed. I feel like a fool. I feel like a spoiled brat.

Textual Healing: People I Irrationally Hate Who I've Never Talked to
http://websterslaw.blogspot.com/2014/11/people-i-irrationally-hate-who-ive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. People I Irrationally Hate Who I've Never Talked to. I take the bus with a lot of annoying people, and these annoying people give me many reasons to dislike them. They either play their music too loud, so I can hear it through their headphones, or they take up three seats on the bus, forcing me to stand. But they're jerks and I don't have to know them to get this. 2 To the tall, thin, mousey blonde girl. When you get on the bus with a yoga mat I irrationally hate you....You m...

I always just sort of figured he was doing okay. Then I just never thought of him again.until yesterday. Tales from The Cup. Tales from the Hammer. September 22, 2014 at 8:13 PM. Textual Healing: In my Backyard
http://websterslaw.blogspot.com/2014/10/in-my-backyard.html
Thursday, October 23, 2014. It's been an emotional couple of days for Canadians, but we, for the most part, have handled it with dignity, grace, and respect. The memorial at the Armoury was a sobering reminder that members of our armed forces are all people who live in communities and have families and people who love and miss them. Dropping off the very first book while wearing the red lip gloss. I was ready to release a book into the wild. The night before I had stumbled upon (thank you http:/ www.stumbleupon.com. Anyway, as we were placing one book in a Sally Beauty Supply store we saw a row of small tubes of lipstick for only 99 cents. Well, the e...

Winey Thoughts: Scott Harvey Barbera 2007
http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/2011/06/scott-harvey-barbera-2007.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Scott Harvey Barbera 2007. I haven't been around much mostly b/c life has been busy and taken over any extra blogging time. Also b/c early summer tends to be beer drinking time for me, so not a lot of new wines have been tried. Until recently. A few weeks ago we drove up to Chicago to visit the fam and stopped by my favorite wine shop. We plan to visit one or two wine stores in Northern Germany soon. I like Italian wine but I have never heard of a grape called Barbera! 1=ugh it wa...

Winey Thoughts: Paso Robles Wine Tasting
http://wineythoughts.blogspot.com/2011/04/paso-robles-wine-tasting.html
Sunday, April 24, 2011. Paso Robles Wine Tasting. The first winery we stopped at. I don't really remember anything standing out about this place. I blame the fact that we got up so early to drive down. Definitely will have to stop again when drowsiness is not a factor. As you pull up to this winery, you notice the gorgeous wisteria overhanging the porch. The Vin Rouge wine was a big favorite here. You know my favorite kind of wine tasting? Our last stop of the day. The people were super friendly even...
