Literacy Dude

Saturday, August 21, 2010. Thing 23 - The End! I cannot believe I made it to the 23rd thing! The class is over, but my learning will continue. Continuing to develop my professional development wiki for my district. Keeping up with my RSS feeds and updates. Using Delicious and exploring it on a more regular basis. Maybe starting a blog on genealogy. To use google calendar this year vs. a paper calendar. Thanks, 23 Things, for opening up the possibilities in my world! They rock my world! Rather than making...

Literacy Dude: Thing 20

http://literacydude.blogspot.com/2010/08/thing-20.html

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. I didn't find either of the suggested podcast search sites that helpful. I weeded through a lot of categories and podcasts with ambiguous names. On itunes I hit paydirt! Like another person commented on Thing 20, i had better luck googling podcasts and the topic I was seeking and would use this method in the future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, August 21, 2010. They rock my world! Here is a link to one of my wikis:. Http:/ www.lpspd.wikispaces.com. Rather than making packets for people, they could go watch our presentation, knowing they had access to this information at a later time. We also could have customized the wiki so that a first grade teacher could explore and interact with first grade clips and content while upper grade teachers could do the same. We could be free to facilitate as needed. A dream for the future!

Thursday, August 19, 2010. I think that wikis are probably my favorite thing of all 23 things! I can see so many uses for them. I can't wait to make a wiki! We are presenting two workshops next week, and I plan to use wikis with both of them! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thing 23 - The End! Married, two children, in education 18 years. Literacy Dude: Thing 16

http://literacydude.blogspot.com/2010/08/thing-16.html

Thursday, August 5, 2010. My colleagues and I create a bi-weekly newsletter that we are constantly updating and editing before it goes out. What a great place to store and work on it - Google Docs! For students, the value lies in working on a document at home and at school. Rather than emailing it home - or forgetting to as my children often do! You can work on in from Google Docs and always have the current and past versions. How cool! Google Docs is going to rock my world! Thing 23 - The End!
