Literacy Spark

Creative ideas for inspiring young readers and writers. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Listening: I've been binge watching Parenthood and I just started the last season. I always feel sad when shows that I get into end. Loving: This baby is 8 months old today! Wanting: One of these years I want to go to Vegas too. Instead it'll be just me and Gracie here since my husband will be in Argentina for work. Maybe we should just take our own trip. Posted by Literacy Spark. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

June 2015 - Literacy Spark

http://www.literacyspark.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Weekend Warriors 3-2-1 Teacher Bio. Monday, June 29, 2015. I am not one of those teachers who stays out for extra recess, spends an extra 20 minutes on math some days, or who switches around routines. I always stick to our schedule and routines as much as possible. I hate assemblies and stuff that messes up our day! I really think it helps with classroom management. My students always know what comes next and what is going on. Using Blogger with a .com Domain through NameCheap *Tutorial*. I know lots of ...

Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Is there an additional degree or certificate that you are working towards? Monday, July 14, 2014. Last year I was all over Monday Made It, but this is my first time linking up this year. Probably because my apartment is full of bins and boxes since we are moving to our new house in about two weeks! I also made the party favors. Since it was a barbecue, and co-ed, I didn't want the typical girly/baby things you normally see. I decided to make barbecue sauce favors to stic...It wa...

September 2013 - Literacy Spark

http://www.literacyspark.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Five for Friday {Punctuation Freebie}. Friday, September 27, 2013. We have been working on identifying the types of sentences and using the correct punctuation marks all week. I got a book for free with my Scholastic order on exclamation marks. It just happened to come at a perfect time, so I read it to my kids and they LOVED it. They laughed like crazy and one class even clapped when I was finished reading. And realizes what his purpose is. Like we are talking about the latest phone or something. I am n...

Fourth Grade Flipper: Tried It Tuesday {Business Cards}

http://fourthgradeflipper.blogspot.com/2014/07/tried-it-tuesday-business-cards.html

Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Tried It Tuesday {Business Cards}. Yesterday I enjoyed my first Monday on summer vacation! That first Monday is probably the best morning of vacation. I leisurely made it out of bed around 7:00 (the kids make it impossible to sleep much later but it is still "sleeping in"). I enjoyed my coffee, took my daughter to swimming lessons at 10:00, then took the kids with me to kickboxing class. They had about five other kids to play with while I worked out.that's a win-win! I used Power P...

the mrs. b blog: do you come from a land down under?

http://themrsbblog.blogspot.com/2014/03/do-you-come-from-land-down-under.html

Thursday, March 6, 2014. Do you come from a land down under? March has officially arrived, and that means All School Unit for my school. Last year, we spent the month deep in Mexico. And this year, we're heading to the land down under- Australia! I'm actually really looking forward to the ASU this year- having one under my belt now, I know what to expect and how much I need to (and don't need to) put into it to really make it great for my kids. http://learningwithmrsbrinn.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Ghostmallows Graph, Count, and Add. Yesterday was a teacher workday. Filled with a variety of activities: conferencing, waffle making, putting skills into the gradebook for the team, lesson planning, creating buddy activities with my 3rd grade buddy, remembering a previous co-worker with a plaque/tree presentation, helping with paperwork for the new running club, and organizing my clutter. It was a great day! Learning with Mrs. Brinn. Links to this post. Sunday, October 13, 2013.

Making Literacy the Star in K-5 Classrooms. Jaana on Lessons from Slicing. I feel like I have learned so much through this experience. I have learned about myself as a person, a wife, a mother, a literacy coach, and a writer. Finishing his baby book, I can blog about his many firsts. Even if no one else reads it, someday I’ll be able to show it to his future wife and say, “He always liked peeing in the tub.”. I’ve learned that I like writing. I might even more than like it.
