New Flavors Butternut Squash Soup Recipe. Lately, I have been longing for new flavors. We consider ourselves to be fairly adventurous eaters. We like raw oysters, curry, cilantro, rare steak. My husband doesn't turn his nose up to meatless meals. But oh man have I been in a rut with my cooking! I've been desperate for inspiration. I mentioned in another blog post. literally, a spoonful: Freezer Sandwiches

http://literallyspoonful.blogspot.com/2010/11/freezer-sandwiches.html

I haven't been this excited about anything in quite some time -. This is such a phenomenal idea, a sandwich for the freezer to be pulled out at your convenience and eaten when you just can't get it together and cook something. You better believe I'm making tons of these before mid January when my 2nd child is due. This recipe comes from Robert St. John's cook book Deep South Staples. My modifications to the recipe:. Wrap tightly in individual foil pieces. I threw mine back in the hamburger bun bag. Novem...

literally, a spoonful: What I buy at Costco

http://literallyspoonful.blogspot.com/2012/09/what-i-buy-at-costco.html

What I buy at Costco. In the comments someone asked what I buy at Costco and I thought it would make for a good post. I was extremely reluctant to join a big box store. For one, the store itself overwhelmed me. The thought of buying such large amounts of a product overwhelmed me too. I went several times just to look around before I actually joined. And then I went and bought some stuff with my sister just to see how those items would play out in my kitchen. Here is a list of what I buy regularly. SB, I ...

literally, a spoonful: Lollie Bean

http://literallyspoonful.blogspot.com/2011/09/lollie-bean.html

The bean that is Lollie's. This dish is named after my aunt, Lollie. She has a knack for finding great recipes. I was raised on Lollie Bean. It's a dish I go-to every fall. It's hearty and feeds a crowd. And although its appearance resembles chili or taco soup it's not. Lollie Bean is it's own kind. 1 1/2 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup diced celery. 1 large onion diced. 3 cans Campbell's Minestrone soup. 2 cans Ranch beans, drained. 1 can Rotel tomatoes. 2 teaspoons chili powder. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.

literally, a spoonful: Pasta with Peas

http://literallyspoonful.blogspot.com/2010/10/pasta-with-peas.html

Dinner tonight was PASTA WITH PEAS! This one's definitely going down permanently in my recipe book. 12 oz box bowtie pasta cooked {save a little pasta water to thin sauce}. I actually used a little less, about 3/4 box b/c I didn't want too many leftovers. 6 strips bacon cooked. 1 cup frozen green peas. 1 cup half and half. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook pasta according to box. Serve with a giant piece of garlic bread. Posted by Sarah Barry. Labels: pasta with peas. Subscribe...

Weaving Through Time: April 2012

http://chrisandmeghan.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Enjoy our Blog everyone. We may be slackers when it comes to new posts, but hang in there. Friday, April 27, 2012. All you longtime blog followers might recognize this AWESOME getup from last summer. I know what you are thinking. It was so becoming that I just had to get in multiple sizes. Ha! We were hoping that her absolute HATE for sand would be resolved by wearing the water shoes. It worked! When she did need to urinate, she started the long trek back to Lodge by herself. (See the blue dot? Don't wor...

Enjoy our Blog everyone. We may be slackers when it comes to new posts, but hang in there. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Our trip to Prince Edward Island was one we won't soon forget. It took over 10 minutes to cross the 8 mile long Confederation Bridge. Here is just a snapshot of what we did during our week on the island. This is post is heavy on the pictures and light on the ole words. I'm still incredibly sleep deprived from Nora's sleeping issues and I am not firing on all cylinders. Hold on to your hat,...

Weaving Through Time: November 2013

http://chrisandmeghan.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Enjoy our Blog everyone. We may be slackers when it comes to new posts, but hang in there. Friday, November 1, 2013. While in Tallahassee taking his 10 hr test, he swung by the Bass Pro Shop and couldn't resist buying some camo overalls for Nora. She wore them out to the farm with her matching hat that he couldn't resist on a previous trip to Orlando. (He also bought the baby some John Deere camo socks that I am supposed to put on her at some point.). Her favorite color is brown, so she was thrilled.

The First Family of Speigner...Welcome to the Farm: 3rd Birthday Par-tay!

http://firstfamilywelcomefarm.blogspot.com/2011/04/3rd-birthday-par-tay.html

The First Family of Speigner.Welcome to the Farm. The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. Thomas Jefferson. Monday, April 4, 2011. We didn't think it would even happen because it rained every hour until his party started. We had to clear out the carport and hang visqueen(sp) to block potential blowing wind and rain. The theme of the party was John Deere, of course. I decided to go casual this year with minimal effort towards food and decor.

The First Family of Speigner.Welcome to the Farm. The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. Thomas Jefferson. Wednesday, April 6, 2011. The Annual Rodeo came to town a few weeks ago and we were fortunate enough to get the VIP treatment! My good friend, Leigha Cauthen and her family have a long association with the Rodeo. Her daddy used to ride on the circuit when he was younger. And, as Rutledge says, "He's a cowboy, Mama! I will have you kno...

The First Family of Speigner.Welcome to the Farm. The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. Thomas Jefferson. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Its been a while. Its been a while. I left a comment on a post of my blog friend SBS. That I was broke down with the motherhood. She, well, her mama coined the term and I must say that I love it because it perfectly explains the chaos that sometimes breaks us mamas. If I continue to allow myself to be controll...

The First Family of Speigner.Welcome to the Farm. The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. Thomas Jefferson. Monday, April 25, 2011. HE is risen indeed! We had a wonderful Easter and hope that you did as well! Rutledge started the celebration early with an Easter Party at preschool. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Deflategate and Other Wrongly Enforced Policies. The NFL has upheld Tom Brady's 4 Game Suspension and now we as Americans, as football fans, as people, must ask ourselves three questions about the ruling:. Is it consistent with the penalties Roger Goodell has handed down in the past? Is it consistent with the protocol used to convict players of violating league rules? Is it consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFLPA? MLS: 6.25 Games. NBA: 20.5 Games.
