An invitation to discuss books and tea. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Take Me Out to the Yakyu (PBOW). A Picture Book of the Week (PBOW) feature. Take Me Out to the Yakyu. This was one of my favorite new reads this summer. So let's unpack this gem a bit. The text in this boo...

The Perilous Sea - Random Musings of a Bibliophile

http://brandy-painter.livejournal.com/132334.html

Random Musings of a Bibliophile. Sep 1st, 2014 at 7:36 PM. Last year I had so much fun reading The Burning Sky. By Sherry Thomas. By no means a perfect book, it still greatly entertained me. I loved Iolanthe and Titus, finding myself invested in their struggle against evil. I was naturally a little nervous going into The Perilous Sea. You should probably read The Burning Sky. Before reading this review. Soon after arriving at school, though, Titus makes a shocking discovery, one that makes him question e...

Bone Gap - Random Musings of a Bibliophile

http://brandy-painter.livejournal.com/133698.html

Random Musings of a Bibliophile. Feb 10th, 2015 at 8:53 PM. I was introduced to Laura Ruby through my Twitter feed courtesy of Anne Ursu. She is an expert ranter about the things she is passionate about, and as we are passionate about many of the same things, I jumped at the chance to pick up an ARC of her new book, Bone Gap. I already knew she had a way with words and I couldnt wait to see how that manifested itself in a fiction narrative. It turns out Ruby is even more amazing when writing fiction.

Random Musings of a Bibliophile. My Favorite Fantasy Series. Aug 24th, 2012 at 7:23 PM. It has been a while since Ive done a Favorite Things. Post that hasnt been connected to some poll going on somewhere on the Internet. In thinking what I wanted to do next I realized that I have never done a post on my favorite Fantasy Series. Since these are the books I reread the most often that seemed remiss. So here they are in the order I read and fell in love them:. The Chronicles of Prydain. A Wrinkle in Time.

The Story of Owen - Random Musings of a Bibliophile

http://brandy-painter.livejournal.com/132916.html

Random Musings of a Bibliophile. The Story of Owen. Sep 14th, 2014 at 8:06 PM. I waited too long to read this book. Seriously. When it came out back in March, I was intrigued. Many people I trust said read this. Its good. Why did I wait so long? The Story of Owen. By EK Johnston is a perfect blend of myth, reality, sly humor, and exhilarating action-adventure. I am Siobhan McQuaid. I alone know the story of Owen, the story that changes everything. Listen! My Reviews: A List. View my Tags page.
