The LT Year in Reading: 2017 Edition. I think this is technically YA, and it’s such an amazing example of how complex, character-driven and just plain. Literature for that age group can be. Hmm, I’ll have to go with Helen Simonson’s. The Summer Before the War. Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand. It was a light and enjoyably quick read that brightened an otherwise gray autumn. And it also perfectly scratched that moment’s itch. Award for Best Cover. So detailed and beautiful! Best Premise, Worst Execution.
