Literate herring, this way. Living and birding in Orkney. Hoodie / Carrion Crow hybrid identification. Friday, 31 July 2015. Xbill again (and some Orcas). What was supposed to be a peaceful walk around Northside into Palace turned into a bit of a stress as the hound behaved extraordinarily badly, however, prior to this bit of a do three Orcas showed briefly off the Whalebone, long time no see. Monday, 27 July 2015. It was quite tame. Thursday, 23 July 2015. Empid sp on Marsh Cinquefoil. Eristalis nemorum...

Literate herring, this way. Living and birding in Orkney. Hoodie / Carrion Crow hybrid identification. Monday, 22 June 2015. Woke up late, well I was up at 3:30 to turn off the moth trap, it was beautiful then too, 50% clear skies, lovely clouds, should have gone and taken a picture really, but then I would have not got back to sleep and I bet I wouldn't have seen the Gull-billed Tern. Plenty of food, not sure what this fish is mind. Here's what I've written in the circumstances for the BB RC description:.

Literate herring, this way. Living and birding in Orkney. Hoodie / Carrion Crow hybrid identification. Sunday, 26 April 2015. Pretty brilliant weekend, many thanks to JB and VB for the hospitality. A quick early post, more pictures to be posted later - the morn most likely. Just out of the airport and straight on to this. Great weather, if a tad cool. First good find was a rather distant, but nevertheless pleasing 2cy Little Gull, an uncommon species here. Loads of these guys around. Six alba wags yester...
