I've cooked my way through all 264 recipes. The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook. January 29, 2011. Steak with a Garlic, Butter, and Parsley Sauce. I've cooked my way through all 264 recipes. The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook. October 31, 2010. A Compote of Turkish Dried Fruits and Nuts (p. 448). I haven't done a dessert in a while, but we're having guests tonight for a Halloween cookout so I wanted to have something sweet to offer other than a ridiculous amount of candy. Arrange the now plump fruits prettily in a round oven dish. I served this warm with a little bit of sweetened greek yogurt on top. I loved the nut flavor, but wished that the...

I've cooked my way through all 264 recipes. The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook. April 15, 2011. Lamb with Artichokes (p. 439). I still can't decide if I like lamb. I think I do, but it's such a unique flavor that some preparations of it are much better than others. Cook the meat first, with lamb cut into small pieces sauteed in olive oil until totally browned. Add in chopped scallions, garlic, and onions and cook until softened, then add water to cover the top of the meat and cook gently. We didn't eat ...

I've cooked my way through all 264 recipes. The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook. February 15, 2012. I pretty regularly read the blog SimplyScratch, and recently came across a recipe there for Pizza Calzones. It looked like such an easy and tasty recipe that I decided to make it for friends this past weekend. I knew I wasn't going to have time to make the dough on my own, so I picked some up from the deli area of the fancy double-decker Harris Teeter nearby. And sauteed a red onion. Thanks for dropping by!
