Little Big Geek

This is the age of the Geek. Dot exe: PDF substitutes. This icon is a headache for many people. Dot exe is a section that covers software. Mostly software for PC as that is what i own and am fluent with, but i'm sure i'll throw in a bone to the MACs every now and then. Most of you out there know what a PDF file is. Which means most of you know what Acrobat Reader. Luckily for us, there are substitutes out there that do the job Acrobat Reader does, only better. First i would like to introduce Foxit Reader.

Little Big Geek: August 2010

http://www.littlebiggeek.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

This is the age of the Geek. Everyday from every side, you come across hundreds of adverts about things you "should" have. From chocolates and ice cream, to the latest perfume from some designer company. But how many of these products do we actually need? How many of these products have you bought and shelved after a few hours use? Well, Tech UP! Will have examples of technology that actually comes in useful, allowing you to be more mobile, more productive and possibly more relaxed. Today on Tech Up!

Little Big Geek: DRM - The reality

http://www.littlebiggeek.blogspot.com/2010/08/drm-reality.html

This is the age of the Geek. DRM - The reality. DRM, also known as Digital Rights Management, has been around a long time. And because most people start a business to make money, i think its here to stay. But what has history taught us about prohibition? This is not the Heimlich maneuver. Back in the early 20th century, Piano Player. Scare tactics, used way too often. The latest example of horribly thought out DRM for a video game was Ubisoft's approach (this is after their Starforce. What happens here i...

Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: Bobotie

http://oliveoilandheart.blogspot.com/2013/11/bobotie.html

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Friday, November 29, 2013. I've been meaning to post this for ages! I made this a couple of months ago, but only remembered it the other day. Didn't take any pics after i'd served it, or while I was preparing, and only got a phone shot of it coming out of the oven! I'll do better next time I promise! And there will be plenty of food to come! What more could I ask for? 800 grams minced lean beef. 1 large onion, chopped. Chilli flakes to t...

Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: Frosting - cream cheese and buttercream.

http://oliveoilandheart.blogspot.com/2012/05/frosting-cream-cheese-and-buttercream.html

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Frosting - cream cheese and buttercream. Frosting is a little funny sometimes, it might work out perfectly one time, and another time it just ends up being a runny mess. here are some pointers to help you get it right. At the bottom of the post, there are a bunch of pictures, including "successful" and "failure" frostings. Icing sugar (known as powdered sugar in the U.S.) must be sifted! Butter lasts quite a long t...

Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: Mocha Cupcakes

http://oliveoilandheart.blogspot.com/2013/11/mocha-cupcakes.html

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Friday, November 29, 2013. It was my birthday a week ago, and I was being asked what cake I wanted for my birthday - the deal was, that my boyfriend would make the cakes (he's also a really good baker! And I would get to decorate them! Seemed like a great deal! Anyway, we decided on a MybakingAddiction's recipe for Mocha cupcakes. The cake mix itself is very similar to the Chocolate Ganache and dulce de leche cake. Link to her recipe here.

Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: The basics of cooking and ingredients

http://oliveoilandheart.blogspot.com/p/basics-of-cooking-and-ingredients.html

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. The basics of cooking and ingredients. Unless otherwise stated, there are some ingredients that i include that take for granted, when actually, I feel that maybe I should be a little more specific. Here is a list, that I will update from time to time. Remember sometimes I will deviate myself from these rules, and will try to remember to be specific about this in the recipes. Extra virgin olive oil. I use supermarket brands for cookin...

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Monday, November 12, 2012. Lemon and Olive oil Chiffon Cake. The lightest, moistest cloud of a lemon cake youll ever try! This wasnt meant to be one of the softest, moistest clouds of a cake Ive ever made.  This was an experiment - using extra virgin olive oil in a cake.  I did some research on the net and thought that Lemon would be the right flavour for this cake, nice mediterranean flavours I guess! 160;Wow.  So yum! Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: Wild Asparagus and Greens Pasta (Wild, Natural foods take 2)

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Monday, May 14, 2012. Wild Asparagus and Greens Pasta (Wild, Natural foods take 2). Springtime is a great time for foraging in Malta. There are plenty of delicious and healthy options to find just on your weekend walk in the countryside (and sometimes, even just walking around residential areas! Happy Spaghetti sauce :). They are the typical "asparagus" look. Simply snap them off and nomnom! Wild chard, delicious and tender when cooked :).

Lala's Kitchen - Back to food basics: Have your Artichokes and eat them :)

The basics of cooking and ingredients. The philosophy of good food. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Have your Artichokes and eat them :). Artichokes - I love them SO much! I love the idea of eating a flower bud, I love the idea of something so fleeting and seasonal! The only problem I see with seasonal food is that I always want to enjoy it when it's out of season, without the added burden on our planet of unsustainable farming methods. The problem is easily solved:. They match wonderfully with seafood, and p...

LITTLE BIGGEST LOSER | June 1st 2011 to December 1st 2011

June 1st 2011 to December 1st 2011. February 5, 2012. What have you learned from this competition? It’s great motivation to have a group of people banding together to work towards the same goal! I think the biggest thing I have learned is to be more conscious of what I am eating. I used the website caloriecount.about.com. To help me track what I was eating and found it very informative. I heard about this site from a co-worker and had used it a little but was more dedicated because of the competition.
