One Little Birdie: February 2015
http://littlebirdieinatree.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A place where all are welcome to express themselves creatively, as long as you don't mind a little dog hair. Friday, February 20, 2015. Scrappy fun and the winter blues. I don't know about you, but this brutally cold winter is really getting to me. I have been in a real funk creatively, both in the kitchen and the studio. You would think I would be cooking and sewing my guts out. Maybe I need more sunlight or something. Here are the blocks all squared up and ready to be put into rows. Now I need to sandw...
One Little Birdie: August 2014
http://littlebirdieinatree.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
A place where all are welcome to express themselves creatively, as long as you don't mind a little dog hair. Monday, August 18, 2014. As I mused in the last post, sewing for men I find quite difficult. Fabric seems to have an inherent feminine quality. Coming up with gifts for the men in my life proves more difficult every holiday season. I hope they like them. Until next time,. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). About One Little Birdie. One Little Birdie: December 2013
http://littlebirdieinatree.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
A place where all are welcome to express themselves creatively, as long as you don't mind a little dog hair. Thursday, December 12, 2013. Here are blocks 1, 2 and 3 of the Quilter's Newsletter challenge. They are found in the December January issue. Keeping the fabrics differentiated is difficult, but I like the way they turned out even if I got some things wrong. Tuesday, December 10, 2013. This is admittedly the most difficult block I have done. But I am up for the challenge! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
One Little Birdie: October 2013
http://littlebirdieinatree.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
A place where all are welcome to express themselves creatively, as long as you don't mind a little dog hair. Thursday, October 17, 2013. Saturday, October 5, 2013. I LUV this fabric! When we were medieval reinactors, my hubby was a Viking. (yes, ladies, I married me a Viking! So, this fabric is fun in many ways and I thought boxers shorts for him would be awesome. Then he gave me the idea to make them for friends for the holidays. Then he gave me the other idea to make some for sale!

Bags by KZK: Table Clutter
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/08/table-clutter.html
Tuesday, August 6, 2013. There I said it. "Table clutter." We all have it, right? Ours seems to consist of vitamin bottles and Zyrtec. If they aren't on the table, we forget to take them . but I HATE. What to do. what to do. A fabric basket seemed the way to go! I followed the tutorial I posted at this link. Only didn't piece the outside. There was plenty of action in the fabric I chose - the same fab I used when I made my kitchen curtains. Here are some action shots:. Here's the story: Years ago, there ...
Bags by KZK: Bags From Bags
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/08/bags-from-bags.html
Monday, August 12, 2013. Yes, we do get our groceries in plastic bags, but trust me, we put them to very good use. To put it as delicately as I can, let me just remind readers who don't know that we have two Siberian Huskies. And we scoop as we go. You're with me, right? Thaaaaat's it, "poop bags". Having said that, we also use regular small plastic bags and so sometimes the grocery bags mount up. What to do, what to do. Here's a link to the tute. First, let's cut some bags. Way to go. According to t...
Bags by KZK: August 2013
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 30, 2013. There's a good chance I'm feeding my addiction to making zippered bags out of fused bags by ripping zippers out of old clothing. It's . recycling, right? I also fused a bunch of bags and am starting a collection of sheets of plastic:. Oooh A Bernina bag! I'm also STILL sewing the hand part of the binding onto my table runner. I have no idea what's taking me so long. I totally enjoy the hand sewing. Maybe just because I'm out of practice? Could I do it? How perfect is that? You'll...
Bags by KZK: January 2012
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I currently have several projects that I'm working on. I like to strike while the inspiration iron is hot, then when I'm not feeling totally creative, I can do things like sew on binding. I had been wanting to try the " Wonky Star. Pattern/technique out, so somewhere back around Thanksgiving, I started playing around with it. That long ago? That doesn't seem right, but that's what iPhoto has for me. Ooops. I had kind of planned to make them something. I came up with two differe...
Bags by KZK: December 2011
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. Merry Christmas to all! I know I've slacked off on posting again. I've been busy finalizing Christmas gifts, etc. - so I hope you'll forgive me! I've made a few really cool infinity scarves this year and thought I'd do a little "how to" tutorial for all of you! They are so fun, easy and really spruce up an outfit - and/or block the cold from coming down the neck of your parka! It all started when I posted a pic of the flannel infinity scarf I made to FaceBook:. Instead of pin...

http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/07/binding.html
Friday, July 26, 2013. Yep Doing the hand-sewing of the binding. See how the raw edges of that label just get sewn right in there? Remember all the points from Wednesday. Due to the pieced binding? Check out where this one hit:. I couldn't have lined that up better if I had tried. I love it when a plan comes together. No sewing today. The plumber who was supposed to come Monday is here now. Go figure. Its so nice to see you back in the studio! July 26, 2013 at 4:59 PM. July 28, 2013 at 3:39 PM.
Bags by KZK: Science Day Two
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/08/science-day-two.html
Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The fusing and bag-making process using the recycled bags is just way too addictive. As I mentioned yesterday, I was back at it the very next day. I was seeing plastic bags in a whole new light and started trying to find every plastic bag in the house to experiment on. Things might have gotten a bit out of hand as was feeding the pups. We were at the bottom of Zim's Prescription Diet bag. I looked at the empty bag and thought . go for it! I mean - how cool would that. I wanted a...
Bags by KZK: Here a Bag, There a Bag ...
http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/08/here-bag-there-bag.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. Here a Bag, There a Bag . This whole fused bag thing is getting addictive! If you read the Ao4 Digest. You'll know that Zim has his own bag to hold bags now, too. Here's a look at it in the Studio:. I tried a little quilting on it, just to see how it would look and how easy or challenging it would be. I think it adds a nice touch - and really no tougher to do than any other quilting. Just use your walking foot! Here it is in action, so to speak:. Totally cool, Mom! Mike should lo...

http://bagsbykzk.blogspot.com/2013/08/another-bag-part-i.html
Saturday, August 24, 2013. Another Bag, Part I. Sorry I didn't post yesterday like I said I would. My husband and I ran off to the lake to do a little birding instead. Hot and thick, but very enjoyable! You're welcome to view photos here. If you'd like.). Speaking of birding, I wanted to make a little fused bag for my birding buddy Beth! And was complimentary . and I had JUST the plastic bags to use for her! She works at the Vet School at KSU, so . How fun is that? See the zipper there? Until then, thank...

039;well, that's what it's all about, really, isn't it? 039; – Grandad. LBL’s Autumn Favourites – Toddler Outer Wear. October 17, 2014. I’ve had great fun shopping for Baby LBL’s autumn wardrobe. We were given. When she was born, and this is the first season that we’ve really had to buy anything for her (though she has been spoiled by some of the many people that love her this season too! I’ve tried to build up a capsule wardrobe – things that work together layered up, or as separates. Today we’re ...
