Story of my crafting life. Tunes Tuesday- The Most Wonderful TIme of the Year. The Holiday season is begun! Andy Williams- The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Easy Dress- Lengthen M6009! I mentioned that I salvaged some fabric from my sister's attempt at sewing and made a dress from it. I have one more dress to post, and I will hopefully get to that sometime this week. At that point, I will almost be caught up with past projects I have neglected to post! So, we lost power for 3 days after Hurricane Sandy.

Story of my crafting life. The Futurama Quilt- Pinning the blocks. For quilting, I try to take as many shortcuts as possible. I will pin together an entire row instead of two items at a time. I will chain items together instead of stopping to cut the thread in between small pieced items. For this quilt, I pinned all the rows that had character faces together. I then pinned together the small sash rows that do not have characters. Next up will be to pin and sew the rows together for the finished quilt top!

I actually had to take a sick day, and that was the first sick day I've taken in four years since I got the job. Story of my crafting life. Futurama Quilt- The character faces. Since I know that most people probably do not want to air-dry a quilt (even though they should), I made to pre-wash my fabric in the hottest water possible, and I made sure to dry it in the dryer. That way there will be no shrinking after it is washed a second time. Here are the finished 6! Next up would be piecing the top! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Story of my crafting life. I finished working on the second blouse I made using the same pattern pieces from my Harmony pattern. The second time did not work as well as the first. I somehow cut the shirt a good 2-4" too short (see Gert). The bust darts looked miserable (I removed them). The neckline also gaped, but I think that was my bad in using the bias tape. Story of my crafting life. It seems that a lot of our house has custom measurements that make purchasing simple things difficult. We have been working on the powder room since November, and we have run into many issues. One included a closet in the powder room with a custom sized bi-fold door that was badly damaged. A replacement door would have been at least $100. So we looked at wire shelving options. Also close to $100. Then I decided to build the shelves myself. The pine boards were only $40. 4 coats...
