New Alchemists: June 2012
http://www.newalchemists.org/2012_06_01_archive.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Tuesday, 12 June 2012. A Galaxy In My Hand. I don't often do these short posts about a small event, but for once I am excited to have bought a new toy. You remember I said a couple of times that I needed a new phone? Now I have one. So why do I need a new phone? It's sleek, it's shiny, it's BLACK, and it's mine. A has fallen in love with it and concedes that it's better than the iPhone, if only it was white. Marshalls Seed...

New Alchemists: In the Garden
http://www.newalchemists.org/2013/07/in-garden.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Sunday, 14 July 2013. Finally, after an empty promise when I started this blog, a post about gardening. I am a very keen gardener, although A and the roses might disagree with that at times. I love growing things you can eat, but since that includes roses then I am not contradicting myself so far. Anyway, we ripped out, weeded, cleared, seeded, planted and now have (we think) a lovely open space. In fact, it was down withi...

The New Alchemists have been busy over the last week. Haven't we all? I'm surprised that anyone has a chance to blog at this time of year, I certainly didn't. Food and some Carols, it wouldn't feel like Christmas any more without it. H arrived on Boxing Day, having spent Christmas with her father. We'd saved some of our presents to o...

The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Monday, 6 February 2012. The Meaning Of Life. Get a life. Life is like a box of chocolates. Life's too short. As large as life. Variety is the spice of life. Life sucks. Life goes on. University of life. A stitch in time saves nine" was my dad's favourite. How do you stitch time? Does my dad have a time machine? What are these things he's saving, nine at a time? Get a life." No thanks, I have one. I like it, it sui...And b...

New Alchemists: March 2013

The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Thursday, 28 March 2013. Cured and Slow Roasted Salmon. I will eventually get tired of the "You cured a salmon? But not just yet. Tomorrow is Good Friday and my parents are coming for lunch, an ideal opportunity to cure and slow roast another salmon and post how I did it. As I mentioned in my page called " Curing and Preserving. Now wrap the sandwich tightly in the cling film and carry on with the rest of the pieces of fis...

New Alchemists: The New Alchemists
http://www.newalchemists.org/p/new-alchemists.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Hi We're the New Alchemists. On 12th December 2011, I moved into a new house with my fiancée A and her daughter H, along with my cat Coco. This is a huge step for us, marking the real start of our life together. I'm Isab, and have been told that I am a nice guy with moments of grumpiness and an absolute belief that I am always right. That is a little unfair, because I AM always right. Aren't we all? Please vote for me!

New Alchemists: May 2012
http://www.newalchemists.org/2012_05_01_archive.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Tuesday, 22 May 2012. Living in this house with A&H genuinely makes me happy. Isn't it amazing how little you need to spend to live well and be healthy? In fact I think you spend less being healthy than you would if you were being slightly unhealthy. who doesn't like the odd chocolate bar, branded latte, bag of crisps and so on? Leaving those out of a normal day saves pounds in every sense. A while later I went outside and...

New Alchemists: February 2013
http://www.newalchemists.org/2013_02_01_archive.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Wednesday, 13 February 2013. A small secret of the Republic of New Alchemia is that, by local law, we have custard for breakfast on Sundays. Last Sunday, though, we took decadence to a new level (for us at least) in every meal. I woke up early and decided that this week we needed something to dunk in the custard for a change, and made cinnamon beignets. It didn't stop there. For lunch we had goat's cheese and bacon on ...

New Alchemists: Four months in one post...
http://www.newalchemists.org/2012/05/four-months-in-one-post.html
The diary of a man moving into a new house with his wife, her daughter, and a cat. Monday, 21 May 2012. Four months in one post. It's been a while since I posted anything, four months to be vaguely precise, but the stats tell me that there has not been a lot of traffic anyway. Don't get me wrong, I've had visitors and if we believe that browsing-bots have feelings too then I'm eternally grateful to both of you. Building the new greenhouse. Building the raised beds for the veg patch. Laying a new Oak floor.
