Little Brick House Clayworks. Where and how I make. Thursday, 26 February 2015. Ceramics from the kitchen table. This time of year its horrible to work in my workshop, its cold and damp, altogether miserable, so I tend to bring clay inside and find somewhere nice to work, its warmer the clays drying as I work and I find Im more productive working this way until the warmer sunnier days arrive. Little Brick House Clayworks. Where and how I make. Wednesday, 12 November 2014. I found some photos I had taken, back in the hazy days of summer from the Sainsbury centre in Norwich. I had gone with a friend and our daughters to show them some of the collection there then took them out to eat afterwards. Hans Coper vessels, these have to be my favourites. Those war time buttons by Lucie Rie looked like sweeties. How do you suppose whoever made this pot created that lettering? Little brick house ceramics.

A blog about my work as a glass artist and general crafting. I'm sure lots of other snippets will also appear! Tuesday, 13 December 2011. We are Lego mad in this house. My boys eat sleep and live for Lego. I'm quite pleased really as they prefer it to computer based games. They do like the lego website though, especially the design games. LEGO is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". In 2006 the LEGO website had an average of 8,137,062 individual visitors a month. I cre...

A blog about my work as a glass artist and general crafting. I'm sure lots of other snippets will also appear! Friday, 28 June 2013. We didn't have iPads or computers when I was growing up. We played in the garden and collected stamps when it was raining. If we felt a bit arty we cut up cereal boxes and made dolls houses or heated crisp packets in the oven to make our own shrink plastic. I knew one day my stamp collection would come in handy! A blog about my work as a glass artist and general crafting. I'm sure lots of other snippets will also appear! Saturday, 15 March 2014. After a browse on Pinterest for kids craft ideas I stumbled across a blog post using Sharpies on T-shirts as an alternative to tie dye. The effects were stunning and I wanted to try it immediately but didn't have a suitable t-shirt to hand. I am such a 'got to do it now' person! I don't know if this project would be washable but I don't intend to wash my fab bag. Subscri...

A blog about my work as a glass artist and general crafting. I'm sure lots of other snippets will also appear! Tuesday, 24 January 2012. Look what I bought myself this Christmas! A jar of wonderfully soft blue fluffy stuff and some beautiful smelling soap. It's a kit to felt soap from sfeltaccessories on ETSY. So the instructions looked pretty easy to follow. I laid out the fluff in strands and then wrapped it around the soap. I did this a few times to make layers. Then I had to wrap it in a nylon net.

Glazes are added often using recycled items. Human hair and old pens make the perfect paintbrushes. Intricate designs are then added and the pieces left to dry. High Fired Ceramics for Garden and Home. Hello and welcome to my website. I am Naomi and I make ceramics from stoneware and Porcelain clays which are hand formed using slab techniques. I Love to create my own methods of working so I create my own textures and stamps which I press into the clay to alter the surface and appearance. I also make and mix my own glazes and stains as well as using conventional ones. I want my work to be both beautiful and practical. I hope you enjoy my work.

Little Brick House Clayworks. Where and how I make. Monday, 20 November 2017. More Glass Fusing with clear glass and copper and brass inclusions. I have been trying out some new designs with these copper and brass infused glass pieces. I have continued with the folk/Scandinavian inspired theme this Christmas and have added some little copper Dala horses and infused them between two sheets of clear glass. Opening the kiln to glass infused firings is new for me, its great! These little pieces have sparkle.

Little Brick House Photography
Okay, he’s not actually mine…but he holds a very special place in my heart. He humored me as I tried to get a few shots of him while he was watching Cars. You will see a lot more of this little man on Little Brick House, so keep an eye out for him! Posted 4 years ago. Today is an unseasonably warm day, so of course I took the opportunity to snap some pics outside…and a few inside. The pups love the warm weather and the melting snow makes for eight very muddy paws!
