Saturday, June 29, 2013. Bringing balance to the force. Due November 17, just in time for Daddy's birthday. Her light saber hand. One of Simon's favorite activities lately is the family dance party. We have one or two of these per day. Simon showing off his freshest moves for Cousin Pellie. She is singing along. Simon entertaining Pellie some more. Catch-up: 3rd Birthday, etc. Wow, it's been a while! Simon REALLY enjoyed his birthday this year. A party with his friends, presents, and lots of cake!

Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Christmas Eve is here, and this is the first year that Simon has really been able to enjoy the whole run-up to the holiday. He's been enjoying the Lego advent calendar that Teta gave him, and talks about Santa a lot. He has "helped" decorate trees and wrap gifts. And knock over trees and unwrap gifts. Merry Christmas, everyone! Love, the Dude. Reading a story with Uncle Pete and Cousin Sawyer. Aida had her 4 week doctor visit last week, and she is doing great! And a big yawn.

Sunday, December 30, 2012. Simon has had a wonderful holiday season with friends and family. We had the week off of work and we have just been relaxing and enjoying food, company and lots of "special, special treats! He doesn't look too thrilled here, but he did enjoy looking at the Macy's windows on State Street. Simon is painting his own puzzle. The first snow of the year came on Christmas Day. Opening presents is amazing. Better than playing with the presents afterward. Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

Thursday, March 21, 2013. Is winter over yet? But little dude's making the best of it. Hangin' with cousin Sawyer. Uncle Peter, Aunt Beth and cousin Sawyer came to visit us in February. The boys had a great time together, as usual. Simon was beside himself with joy at the Museum of Science and Industry, just the escalators were amazing to him, not to mention the giant model train, the baby chicks, the funhouse mirrors, and the submarine! Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Well, it's been a very punishing winter, which finally seems to be over. The news reports that it was the third coldest winter in Chicago since they began keeping track. We were stuck inside most of the time, and we made the best of it, but we are so happy to be getting outside again. This recipe is from the Pioneer Woman! 1-14oz. can black-eyed peas. 1/4 C white onion, diced. 1/4 C sour cream. 8 slices jarred jalapenos. 1 C shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Hot sauce, to taste.
