Plant an idea, harvest the future. A River of Stones. A River of Stones. January 4th. I’m late. #aros #1. January 5th. Smoke drifts low and lazy into the cold winter air. A dog bark echoes from far across the snow encrusted valley. A low haze obscures a whole band of stars. Although I am alone I do not feel it. #aros #2. January 6th. Cold kitchen and breakfast clutter. Too long spent playing with shiny stones. Bagels to bake, before the boys come home. #aros #3. Weights pulling on aching shoulders. Janua...

Plant an idea, harvest the future. A River of Stones. I’m a lousy farmer. July 4, 2014. Anyhoo, the sun dried out the top inch or so of my tilled beds, or more accurately at this stage ‘strips’. Underneath was wet but not waterlogged, which bodes well I guess. I did three more passes with the tiller (a week after the initial tilling) before the soil was light enough and relatively clump-less to poke stuff into it. Except I couldn’t find the disk for melons and squash. On googling for which disk...This is...

Ok, so far it’s just cute pictures and I promised you an adventure, or at least a quick tutorial. So Norman pulled up the other day and when he has something for me he always says ‘Where are you? Plant an idea, harvest the future. A River of Stones. Forgive me father, for I have blogged. I’m a lousy farmer →. From pasture to Raised Beds. June 28, 2014.
