little goats play: January 2012

http://littlegoatsplay.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. A little more sunshine, please. After a few weeks of nervous goats and coyote tracks in the snow around our house, we decided to take a measure of precaution. Garrett installed this "latch" to lock the goat shed door. Pretty nifty, that Garrett. The door was warped when we got the shed and we'd never been able to close it before. Now at least WE sleep better. Morning brings freedom and the safety of the daylight. Monday, January 9, 2012. Fabric Card makes the winter go by.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Here in my chair,. Creativity wonders to autumns of past. Friday, September 7, 2012. Sweet Peas and the President. Last evening I watched the president's speech and I cut out peas. To be exact, it took more than just the one speech to cut out all 160 peas and 80 pods. But it was hard to be anything other than happy making these sweet little shapes and enjoying some good old fashion politics. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Here in my chair,. little goats play: August 2012

http://littlegoatsplay.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 28, 2012. And the buttons have made their full journey from lump of clay to finished product. Several weeks ago I began making this batch of buttons. I rolled out porcelain clay with my rolling pin and cut shapes. For circles I used a donut holer and for the squares I just cut free hand. Breaking the batch into sets of six, I imprinted different wooden tools into each circle. These buttons were so much fun to make and I can't wait to get started on new shapes, patterns and colors! Yesterd...

http://littlegoatsplay.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 24, 2012. Back in the throws of it. This past Monday I dusted off the pottery wheel and pulled it into the warm kitchen from the cold mud room with my brother's help (thanks Christopher! I got this wheel last spring on Craigslist and have thrown a few things so far, but the mud room wasn't exactly an accommodating studio. Well, nothing gets the pots a throwin. Like having a wheel in your kitchen! I'm working in a medium white porcelain,. Thursday, February 23, 2012.

Christmas in July! | Mixed Method

A little of this, a little of that. The hubby and I have been working away at painting, updating, cleaning and unpacking our new house (hence the lack of attention my blog is getting…). We aren’t officially moved in yet, but we will be soon, and it will be like Christmas! We’ve just been so busy between day jobs and home improvement (you can follow a lot of the progress on my instagram feed. A little of this, a little of that. Daily Archives: April 30, 2015. How can you not love a card with at tiny super hero and her super hero cat on it? For this card, I simply die-cut a circle window into a card panel. Then, I stamped my super-girl onto another panel, masked her off and used distress inks to color a yellow and orange background (I even added a few water droplets to the distress ink because.why not? It ended up looking like the little lady is flying a bit too close to the sun! Blog at WordP...

Christmas Tags + Goodie Bags | Mixed Method

https://mixedmethod.wordpress.com/2014/12/23/christmas-tags-goodie-bags

A little of this, a little of that. Christmas Tags Goodie Bags. This year, I made lots and lots of gift tags. I used the gift tags for little goodie bags that I gave out to everyone in my department at work. It was a lot of work, but I had a lot of fun making the tags and assembling the bags. And, I imagine that the gift tag recipients might even re-purpose the tags as Christmas tree ornaments – two gifts in one. I heat embossed them using versamark ink. To apply distress ink. I also put together a few o...

Artwork available for sale. What’s in a name? Goats are hearty souls. They have served mankind longer than cattle and sheep, and apparently can survive on bushes, trees, desert scrub, and herbs (not to mention a few tin cans) when other animals would surely starve to death. Calling someone “ma bichette” or “my little goat” in French is meant as a term of endearment. This all makes sense to us. So, here’s to the little goat. An endearing, adaptable and wise survivor!
