A Frugally Old-Fashioned Homemaker

Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Just a brief post to let y'all know that I have decided to stop blogging. I'm sure some might wonder why. I suppose I am just blogged out. I really don't feel like I have much more to contribute. (Doesn't take much to deplete some people, does it? I do plan to leave the blog up.just in case there's a recipe you want, or there might even be something you could use now and again. And who knows.at a different season in life, I may very well be back. :). Thursday, October 8, 2009.

A Frugally Old-Fashioned Homemaker: Homemade Pizza Pockets

http://littlehouseinthefoothills.blogspot.com/2009/10/homemade-pizza-pockets.html

Saturday, October 3, 2009. Like almost every other family in America, we love pizza. :) I've been wanting to try my hand at making Pizza Pockets for some time now, so this week, I finally just put it on the menu. They're very easy to make and everybody loved them. I started by making my regular pizza dough in my bread machine. (I'll post the recipe for that at the end.) Once it was finished, I divided my dough into pieces and rolled them out flat. 1 cup plus 2 TBSP water. 2 TBSP olive oil or vegetable oil.

A Frugally Old-Fashioned Homemaker: I Love the Old Hymns

http://littlehouseinthefoothills.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-love-old-hymns.html

Wednesday, October 7, 2009. I Love the Old Hymns. I have been a true lover of hymns since I first became a Christian more than 20 years ago. It seems to me that the old hymn writers knew just how to express how I felt about things such as worship, the majesty of God, the sinfulness of man, etc. I've even written some posts about a few particular hymns that have meant alot to me over the years. Much to my delight, Robert Cottrill. Left a comment on one such post I wrote about the hymn. Being raised as a c...

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.". I love ♥ being a wife.I love ♥ being Mama to four youngens (one grown, three at home). I love ♥ being a "keeper at home" according to Titus 2:3-5:. Titus answers that for us. That the word of God be not blasphemed. So you'll fi...

A Happy Anniversary :). 8216;The Cranky Jar’. August 13, 2009 by angeliqueshara. Proverbs 15: 1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Thankfully though we have only put in 2 pennies since. It is a habit we have both learned from our parents and society around us but it is one we need to break before it breaks us. The money will go to a charity when we feel the habit has been broken. Maybe one for domestic abuse. On August 16, 2009 at 9:27 pm. Your relationship is worth it!

Blessed Beyond Measure: July 2009

http://mammysspot.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31. There are some very beautiful old houses here. One of the horse and carriage tours. These houses are really close together. The front of one faces the back of another, with just enough room in between for a driveway wide enough for a single car. You can see that here. There are gates on the driveway that stretch from house to house, and the door by the gate leads up onto the front porch. The United States Custom House on Meeting Street. One of the statues in the park along the Battery.

Frugality 101: Frugality in light of Proverbs 31...Part Two

http://domesticallyinclined2.blogspot.com/2008/07/frugality-in-light-of-proverbs-31part.html

Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Frugality in light of Proverbs 31.Part Two. Living frugally may seem silly and old-fashioned to a few generations that have grown up with luxuries and affluence, but frugality is far from it. Our Founding Fathers feared that too much luxury woud make a nation weak. If we look back to the Romans and the Greeks we can see that too much play time, or luxury time on their hands was part of their downfall. So let's continue with. Frugality in light of Proverbs 31 Part Two. Here is one o...

Monday, July 13, 2009. Not sure if I mentioned it on the blog or not, but this summer, Rachel started with a new violin teacher at the recommendation of her old teacher. She felt like it was time for Rachel to move on to a new level of teaching. She's learned a lot from the new teacher, who is a very talented musician. She has "strongly" recommended that Rachel audition for the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her audition time is on the afternoon of August 22. She is SO. Thursday, July 9, 2009. We're...
