Liz Benjeddi Textile Art. Wednesday, 15 August 2012. Module 2 Chapter 5 (page 20). Chapter 5 - page 20. Design and make a textured tassel. I looked back through the pictures I collected in Chapter 1 for Module 2 and came across this photo of bluebells. Liz Benjeddi Textile Art. Sunday, 13 October 2013. Module 3 Chapter 1 (Page 26). Module 3 Chapter 1 - Flight of Fancy. I spent some time thinking about objects that can fly, e.g. birds, some insects, butterflies, planes, kites etc. and decided to collect images of Chinese kites, which quite often are representations of butterflies, birds, dragons and dragonflies. I collected images of these and also made drawings and sketches of the ones I liked or found most interesting. I particularly liked these pictu...

http://lizbenjeddi.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Liz Benjeddi Textile Art. Wednesday, 15 February 2012. Module 2 Chapter 2 - Making Patterns (page 17). I collected patterns from craft papers that I already had tucked away in boxes. I particularly like the patterns on these Japanese papers. These papers are textured and some of the patterns show symmetry (reflective and rotational). Patterns collected from browsing through various magazines. I like the way that the vertical pattern of stripes contrasts with the horizontal set below. I cut the printing b...

Liz Benjeddi Textile Art. Sunday, 1 June 2014. Module 3 Chapter 3 (page 28). Module 3 Chapter 3. I used decorative stitch patterns to cover a space dyed piece of calico, going across the diagonal. I cut this on the bias and used straight stitch to attach the bias strip to the background (dark pink). Once the edging was in place, I used an automatic stitch pattern of flowers in orange and zig zag stitch in a dark pink to create a sense of continuity. Bound edge with pin tucks. For this sample, I placed a ...
