Stuff I do/see that I find interesting enough to write about. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Just a quick note since I'll forget later how I blew an hour of my time with NetBeans. I received an error in the Generated Code section. This is annoying because you can't edit that section. but it is also good considering the time saved with GUI building. Anyway, the error was:. Location: class java.lang.String. Javaxswing.ActionMap actionMap = org.jdesktop.application.Application. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). If you...

Stuff I do/see that I find interesting enough to write about. Sunday, July 13, 2008. By the time I was in my truck, my left shoulder felt like it had been punched a few times. Anyway, after telling my wife about this, she thought I was crazy for getting both in one arm. She said she would have put one in each, to lessen the maximum pain per arm. I figured that I wanted a fully-functional good arm. So now I pose the question to you, loyal reader. How would you distribute the shots? My Home Improvement Blog.

If you're starting out trying to build your first (or second, or whatever) parallel program, I've found that the Lawrence Livermore National Lab keeps a very nice page on High Performance Computing. It looks like it's maintained by a guy named Blaise Barney (awesome name). He does a great job of organizing it and writing the tutorials on various topics. Posts were a roller...

Stuff I do/see that I find interesting enough to write about. Saturday, October 27, 2007. RMA my RAM (with no mar on my arm). My laptop started acting wonky. Specifically, it started to spontaneously restart whenever the computer had been running for, say, 40 seconds. That is quite annoying. After doing a little research online, I figured that I had a bad. After ripping apart my laptop. Thursday, October 04, 2007. Saw this in an AP story. About Lance Briggs pleading guilty to something:. http://rabidwombats.blogspot.com/2010/04/raiders-draft-2010.html
Stuff I do/see that I find interesting enough to write about. Saturday, April 24, 2010. Just a few thoughts on the Raiders' draft this year from a lifelong fan. Ahhhh, that just feels right. Hope this kid works out in the long run and doesn't end up doing a crappy series. On the USA network. Seriously though, I'm happier with this draft for the Raiders than I have been for a long time. I found an interesting theory on why they did so well this year posted on a message board. Either way great draft for us!

Stuff I do/see that I find interesting enough to write about. Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Michael Vick and the Prisoner's Dilemma. If I ever go back to teaching math, I'll need to remember this week for a great example for a lecture on game theory. We are watching a real-life version of the famous Prisoner's Dilemma. For those unfamiliar with the PD, wikipedia has a good summary. Here is a nice table directly taken from Wikipedia:. Prisoner B Stays Silent. Prisoner A Stays Silent. Each serves six months.
