Little Red Roost

Thursday, January 3, 2013. I owe you all some major life updates! Now that Eleanor is 11 weeks old, I'm starting to come out of the haze of exhaustion that was my pregnancy and newborn days. First up, the main attraction, Eleanor Elizabeth was born October 17th at 3:13 in the afternoon. She was 8 pounds 14 ounces and 22 inches long. Perfectly healthy and beautiful! She came home to the dream house and turned out to be a very sweet and sociable baby, with a bit of tummy fussiness. She grew and grew,.

Little Red Roost: December 2011

http://littleredroost.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 30, 2011. Dream House: December happenings. While I have been blissfully vegging out, the dream house has been a flurry of activity. Here's what happened in December:. We have outlets (lots and lots of outlets! Just look at how many places I can plug things in in the kitchen alone. We took pictures of pretty much every outlet, pipe, vent, and wire in the house for future reference, but those pictures are not very exciting to look at. What is super exciting? Links to this post. Little Red Roost: May 2012

http://littleredroost.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Downstairs - a month in. The dream house is starting to feel a lot more homey, even if I'm a long, long way from being finished with decorating. I thought I'd share where I am now, and what I hope to accomplish before the baby arrives in October. Still to do: find a kitchen rug and hang some art. We purchased the table from Ikea and the metal stacking chairs from Overstock. I like the modern meets classic vibe, but we really need a rug to tie everything together. Still to do: Art!

Sunday, February 13, 2011. Valentine's Candy for You. Happy Valentine's Day to you, my lovely readers! If I knew you in real life, I'd give you all flowers and candy. Since that isn't possible, I thought I'd share some eye candy with you instead. Here are a few things for home that I'm loving right now:. When beautiful buckets of tulips begin appearing in Trader Joe's, I know spring isn't too far off. For me, tulips are the flowers that announce winter won't last forever! 3 Dash and Albert rugs. We all l...

Hip House Girl | American expats in Australia on hiatus from our fixer-upper | Page 2

https://hiphousegirl.wordpress.com/page/2

About the Hip House Girl. My house’s to-do list. American expats in Australia on hiatus from our fixer-upper. July 22, 2012. Posted by Hip House Girl under Adelaide apartment. When we first moved here, we set a bit of a budget for our house furnishings. The idea is that we won’t be here long enough to invest in really nice stuff, so I set my sights high on a Craigslist/Gumtree steal (which worked for me last time, back home) in the form of a $100 couch. Ugh, just… ugh). Dumbest move ever. July 2, 2012.

Curiouser and Curiouser: Newsy News

http://curiouscrochet.blogspot.com/2011/06/newsy-news.html

Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Hello again, everyone! 1 The Owl Feature. My far and away most popular free pattern has been this little guy, and for those of you who actually read my blog rather than just pop in to cut and paste patterns, you may remember that - GASP! I went back to link to the post where I told you guys this, but I never did! So I guess this is double exciting news. Welll, back in November, I got a Ravelry message from the editorial assistant of UK Let's Knit. I think it's pretty snazzy. Peopl...

Curiouser and Curiouser: September 2010

http://curiouscrochet.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 27, 2010. Back in the Swing. Well hello there everyone! I know that it has been a ridiculously long time since my last post, but getting back to school is always so hustly bustly busy that I hope you will understand. So much has happened since my last post too! As it has been a while the rush process is now over and my sorority is now. This tin is now my portable sewing kit for finishing projects with buttons and the like). I even got to keep the awesome jar and the Reeses! And while as...

Curiouser and Curiouser: February 2011

http://curiouscrochet.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 28, 2011. So today has been sort of One of Those Days. It is cold. I am forgetful and clumsy and frantic, and I had a midterm. The subject of my Japanese class was horribly depressing. I bungled the last few, vitally important moments of my Economics midterm. And I have another midterm tomorrow. But I also have some gorgeous yarn waiting for me. And for now that is good enough to get me through. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. So I went searching for some boots. And fell in love. And sendi...

Friday, August 27, 2010. I have been having one of the best days I have had in a while. It is the first day of school here at my dear college, and something quite marvelous has happened. I really really really absolutely and truly LOVE all of my classes! I am taking Statistics, Economics, Japanese Pre-Modern Literature and Culture, and Advanced Japanese. and I only signed up for Japanese Lit last night at 11:30. But it all worked out! The weeks ahead promise lots of productive busyness, including rush th...

Curiouser and Curiouser: Crafts in the Interim

http://curiouscrochet.blogspot.com/2013/09/crafts-in-interim.html

Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Crafts in the Interim. In the million billion years between when I posted, I was actually still crafting away! Here are some of my finished projects from the past two years. I decided that for my vase, I would use Modge Podge and this star punch that I got at the dollar store to create a stained glass effect like the picture below. Http:/ modpodgerocksblog.com/2012/04/faux-stained-glass-containers.html. Last but not least, the mail box! One day, I got the urge to create a num...

Friday, August 16, 2013. Hello Hello. Hello. It has been two long years since I stopped investing my time into this blog. and I want it back! I am in a new place in my life, in a new city, in an apartment instead of a sorority house, and law school instead of undergrad. I can't promise I will always have more time, or post consistently, but I really want to try. So rather than excuses. content! On here even when I was working on it concurrently with the development of this blog! And then tried to arrange...
