My Little Sewing Alcove

Tuesday, March 24, 2015. My daughter asked me to make a sleepsack for my 5 month grandson. She wanted it to be longer than the one he was quickly growing out of, so. I compared the one she brought over to a pattern I found in my stash. Seeing as they are big Buffalo Sabres fans (who are losing), I also found some Sabres fabric in my stash. This is the end result. It looks so cute on him. Should have taken a picture, but did not :(. For the ribbing I used a yellow fleece I had, cut crossgrain. I hope she ...

My Little Sewing Alcove: McCalls - fleece jacket finished.

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/11/mccalls-fleece-jacket-finished.html

Tuesday, November 8, 2011. McCalls - fleece jacket finished. This is what I did all weekend. Well, most of the weekend. It was quick and easy.especially working with fleece. I had a huge remnant of black and a small piece of yellow, although it looks more cream colored in the pictures I took. The little pocket on the sleeve is for my IPOD.I tried to angle my camera to get a better shot, but it didn't work. A photographer - I am not. This is a great pattern to put together for a gift for someone.hmmmmm.

My Little Sewing Alcove: My sewing room....project.

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-sewing-roomproject.html

Saturday, October 22, 2011. My sewing room.project. Thought I'd share with you what I've been up to these past few days.amazing what some time off from work produces, besides very sore muscles from moving things I should not be moving! It was cramped, alongside a single bed.but I loved my little corner of the world. Did alot of staring out the back window instead of sewing.inspiration? Ya, maybe.right. I've already taken my machines up and will take a pic when it's set up. Oct 22, 2011, 7:20:00 PM. But I...

My Little Sewing Alcove: Jean Jacket M5860 done.

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/11/jean-jacket-m5860-done.html

Monday, November 21, 2011. Jean Jacket M5860 done. It's complete. I'm pretty happy with the results, although the pockets look huge in this picture. The color is a dark Army green, which my camera did not pick up. I topstitched it in a light green. The buttons are from my stash and as I said before, the fabric was given to me.bonus! Next up, another blazer for work.that is, when I go back! I love a jean jacket. Olive green is a good color for one too. Nice job! Nov 25, 2011, 7:13:00 AM. SEW MUCH TO SEW.

My Little Sewing Alcove: It's been 3 years.....

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2015/01/its-been-3-years.html

Saturday, January 31, 2015. It's been 3 years. Hello all. It's been a long time since I've posted. A lot has happened in these three years. I want to start sewing and writing again. I always had so much fun creating garments and reading about yours. In these past years, I lost my husband and best friend to an illness. That was the hardest thing I've gone through. A month before our 40th wedding anniversary.never made it. Of course all the while listening to some good tunes. Feb 3, 2015, 8:56:00 AM. Gerti...

My Little Sewing Alcove: Butterick Jacket and Vest Done

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/12/butterick-jacket-and-vest-done.html

Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Butterick Jacket and Vest Done. Amongst the fabric my sister gave me, she also gave me patterns. In the box I found this jacket and thought it was really cute. Not sure how old it is or if they even print it anymore. I decided on the red one. I added about two inches to the hemline. This picture is up close so you can see the fabric better. Even if I wear a different color top, no one will even know. I just got a new job.so one more thing to wear! Dec 6, 2011, 7:48:00 PM. Widge...

Building my wardrobe of beautiful clothes that fit well and have a unique touch - once I've taught myself how! Wednesday, 23 June 2010. My Daughter's Burda 104. Isn't it wonderful to be able to sew in peace with the windows and doors open and the sun blazing outside, especially after all that snow at the start of the year. Aah bliss. Ok, I've managed, by some weird miracle to finish AND photograph this dress. 24 June 2010 at 10:46. What a fabulously stunning dress - and that shade of red is perfect!

Little Sew & Sew | I learn, you learn, we all learn together

Little Sew and Sew. The first thing I ever planned to make was a draft excluder as our hallway is. I had to wait until now to make it, though, as I ordered my fabric from Abakhans. Fabric shop of Manchester. 8 million weeks later and it arrived… It’s actually doing a great job of blocking the drafts in the hall – blocking. Thing in the hall, because the bargain box I ordered is actually a box. A big, massive, box. 8217; It’s. Easy peasy, someone. Mess it up, and straight lines are. This is what I did:.
