tapas.: belgian beer and dutch herring

http://littletastes.blogspot.com/2008/05/i-am-back-home-and-have-been-thrusted.html

Lots of little tastes. May 22, 2008. Belgian beer and dutch herring. I am back home and have been thrusted into the world of school, job searching, weddings, baby-showers, and shit-shovelling (literally). While happy to be here, I do miss travelling which already seems like long ago. Picture from the Keukenhof gardens outside of Den Haag and Bruges. Thursday, May 22, 2008. Lots of little tastes. March 2, 2010. Whereas my last trip to Europe was like tapas, my time in Sweden is like a 5-course meal. Thus far, I have spent the majority of my time in Lund (where Oscar lives) attempting to learn Swedish (which involves the pronunciation of every 8. So aside from a weekend trip to Copenhagen and around the Oresund (the channel separating Denmark and Sweden), I’ve been learning about real-life Lund, which I’ve discovered is quite:. English-speaking. If there’s one cons...Lund is...

http://littletastes.blogspot.com/2008/07/poutine_12.html

Lots of little tastes. July 12, 2008. Anniversary celebrations. Not only are there contemporary dance, art, and cultural exhibitions everywhere, but concerts abound. Two spectacles (neither of which I will likely attend due to their expected audience sized of 100,000-200,000! Of special mention include free shows given by Mr. Paul McCartney and Ms. Celine Dion on the historic Plains of Abraham. Just imagine it, Celine Dion in the heart of Québecois pride - simply glorious! Saturday, July 12, 2008.

http://littletastes.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Lots of little tastes. June 21, 2008. I knew that leaving the comfort of Ottawa would be challenging, so I’ve been purposefully trying to find ways to embrace life on the farm as I await the arrival of my next move (which is approaching rather quickly). After some experiences and thought, I’ve compiled a short list of reasons why I love being outside of Waterloo despite the challenges “stirring the pot” has brought:. Looking out the window to watch wheat moving with the wind. Playing with my nephew.

Two weeks in the same place? Simons Town, South Africa. I woke up this bright sunny Monday morning to realize that this is the first time since September (with the exclusion of my 3 weeks spent at home over Christmas) that I have been in the same bed, same room, same place, same city for more than a week. Wow! Well that's what's up with me these days. I'm going back to the same room right now to enjoy the feeling of familarity that one gets from the second week in the same place. The Way I See Things. There is nothing quite as exciting as receiving a parcel in the mail that you ordered a month ago and have given up waiting for. Advent IV: May It Be. Tonight there is no festive fire dancing on the television screen to keep me warm. Tonight there are no pop renditions of age-old carols to keep me company. Tonight it is not about the shopping lists and the count-down to Christmas. Tonight it is not about egg not and mistletoe. Tonight it is not about Rudolf and Frosty. Tonight not all is silent. Tonight not all is calm. Tonight is the story, re-read again;. Of a fear-inducing visit between a young girl and a divine being. When I a...

http://danahonderich.blogspot.com/2011/12/advent-ii-on-being-incarnate.html

Advent II: On Being Incarnate. This Advent more than others I find myself highly attuned to the embodiment of God, the notion of the incarnation. Perhaps it has something to do with feeling weary, run-down and sick for most of Advent thus far that has me realizing again the limitations of my humanness and my own embodiment. Another poignant reminder of the limitation of embodiment came to me in reading The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Posted by Dana L Penner. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Meghan ...

Advent III: The Empty Stable. It's Christmas time, and I have decked the halls, and trimmed the tree, and it's starting to snow,. But I feel a sense of emptiness. I can understand what the stable. Nearby a packed inn was a lonely stable. It was there, and that was all it was. It was there like it always was. And then they came. A young girl, a middle aged man, and their donkey-chariot. They came to rest in that empty stable. And into the world came a baby, a tiny baby. Born in an empty stable. Sensei Ken...

A Little Taste of London

A Little Taste of London. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. I thought I would post a few of the hundreds of pictures that I have taken. It will take me a while to get all of them sorted and posted, but here are a few! A Little Spare Time. So, I have been so very busy this past week and a half that on my free day (today) I slept in! You wouldn't think that that would be such a big deal, but I needed it! So, we went to the Hampton Court Palace the other day! It was the palace where King Henry VIII himself lived!
