Live 2 Eat: Zucchini Tart
http://live2eatdc.blogspot.com/2010/08/zucchini-tart.html
A blog about spending your life indulging. On July 14, 2010, I was blessed with a healthy baby girl. Jianna has brought pure love and joy to our home and I can't even imagine how I was living a life without her. Everyday now is an adventure. She definitely keeps me on my toes! Taking care of her has been quite a learning process and once I finally think I've got the hang of it, she throws me for a loop. I have a feeling this will continue well into her adulthood :). I can't believe I'm already 5 weeks in...
Live 2 Eat: Balsamic Onion Salad
http://live2eatdc.blogspot.com/2010/05/balsamic-onion-salad.html
A blog about spending your life indulging. I've never been a salad person, but to balance out my increased consumption of pepperoni pizza, I've been trying to incorporate it into my diet for my little peanut. This is not at all easy for me given that my idea of a salad has always been potato or macaroni salad :) So, obviously not any salad will do. Luckily the traditional salad that I usually dodge can be easily reinvented into exotic goodness. May 11, 2010 at 9:29 AM. May 22, 2010 at 10:16 PM. Go to cul...
Live 2 Eat: Jerk Chicken
http://live2eatdc.blogspot.com/2009/09/jerk-chicken.html
A blog about spending your life indulging. Once a year I convince Neil to make something for dinner. Last year it was the beer can chicken. Which was a hit. This year he made me jerk chicken, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Actually, he made it for his VT tailgate in Blacksburg first. It was a success there, so he offered to make it for me. He made it all by himself too! I never peel ginger before grating it. Does it make a big difference in flavor/texture? November 16, 2009 at 7:29 PM. Subscribe to...
Live 2 Eat: Avocado Salad
http://live2eatdc.blogspot.com/2010/07/avocado-salad.html
A blog about spending your life indulging. This is probably my last post for a little while. The doctors decided that my little one is making her debut next week. The 9 months have treated me wonderfully and I can only hope to be as lucky for D-day! I wanted to leave you with something easy, summery, colorful, refreshing, and cool to the tongue.much needed with the extreme summer heat this year! I served this alongside barbecue jerk chicken. July 9, 2010 at 7:28 PM. I made this last night- great recipe!

It's all about me! Lastly, we donated our old coffee table and replaced it with a nice cushiony leather one that wouldn't hurt as much in case the little guy tries to head butt it. we had fun bringing safety to our family room and it was comforting to see that avi agreed with some of our decisions! In this video clip, you can clearly hear avi saying "ah, ah, ah"; recognizing the dangers that lie behind the kitchen cabinet! Catherine - "well, my dad drives a landrover.". Best buds.part II. The Pink Truffle: October 2011
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. Mushroom, Goat Cheese, and Spinach Omelet. What are you doing this weekend? Phil and I are having friends over again for dinner. They have three kids so I'm trying to think of some kid friendly dishes. Any suggestions? I'm also hoping to get outside to clean up the garden before winter. It's been so rainy lately I haven't had a chance. Of course you always have to make time for a leisurely breakfast where you can enjoy a cup of tea and read the newspaper. Happy Weekend! This dis...

The Pink Truffle: January 2012
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Super Bowl Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Purple Slaw. Okay, that isn't actually the pulled pork pictured above, almost fooled you though. I was so annoyed because I accidentally deleted the photo while I was organizing my photos the other day. So this will just have to do. Ingredients for Cajun spice:. 1/4 Cup ground cayenne pepper. 2 Tbs ground black pepper. 2 Tbs onion powder. 2 Tbs garlic powder. Ingredients for the barbecue sauce:. 1 1/2 Cups of apple cider vinegar. While the...

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies. What a great way to start the weekend! Crunchy edges and soft centres, make this the perfect chocolate chip cookie. I asked my mom if I could borrow her electric mixer for this recipe. It's just one of those things I don't use since I don't bake much. As I was using it I felt very nostalgic, remembering my mom making lots of meringues and cheese muffins with that mixer. Recipe by Jim Lahey found in Bon Appetit Magazine. 3/4 Tsp of kosher salt.
The Pink Truffle: Breaded Chicken Fingers
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2012/03/breaded-chicken-fingers.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Jane was in love with these! You can always tell when Jane is a big fan of something by the way she chomps and smacks her lips. She also does a little dance in her highchair. For the adults, add your favourite dipping sauce (we chose a sweet chilli sauce). When breading your chicken use separate hands for dry and wet ingredients or your fingers will look like this! 2 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips. 2 Tsp of mixed Italian dried herbs. 1 Tsp pf garlic powder.
The Pink Truffle: June 2011
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Aren't these peppers cute? Not only are they nice to look at, but their size is very convenient too. I often have half a pepper in the fridge wrapped and stored for later. These ones though are the perfect size for salads. And can you imagine these little guys stuffed. I might have to try that soon. Oh my gosh it's been way too long! Over three months, actually. I had no idea babies took up so much time! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. A CUP OF JO.

Antipasto salad to antipasto "course' - a major upgrade. I’ve been eating a lot of antipasto salads at diner-type restaurants this year. . The typical diner antipasto salad is mostly iceberg lettuce, topped with mediocre mozzarella cheese, mediocre salami, black olives, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion. Some include hard-cooked egg slices. I like that. About my fourth or fifth antipasto salad of the year, I asked myself the question: What is antipasto and does it really have anything to do with salad?

If it's too much for you to take on after work, make it on a Sunday and freeze. Links to this post. I don't cook Indian food very often.mainly because our parents are always making us loads of delicious food. Another reason is that if I ask my mom for a recipe, she'll be sure to leave out the main ingredient, or give measurements that make absolutely no sense! But, Indian food makes for great leftovers :). Links to this post. Corn and Black Bean Salad. Ring in Spring with this colorful, refreshing salad!
