Still reeling a little bit from the emotional night of nostalgia I’m reminded to embrace all that I have in this present moment. To cherish whatever this Christmas looks like and not pine for how I think it should look or feel. And in my warmly lit house, listening to Sleeping At Last, on the heels of the winter solstice, there is a hope for light that surfaces and wakes me.

Recently those words came to mind; after reading them in a book over ten years ago. I was challenged to say them out loud in some form, if I ever had the opportunity. When was I going to have that opportunity? Last week I heard that my patient had aborted her baby.
