But What do I Know?
http://samofthesea.livejournal.com/tag/health
I have an extremely liberal friend (some might consider him of the bleeding-heart variety) who is committed to stop smoking. His own health hasn't been enough of a motivation for him to do this. Today, he made this proclomation:. Next cigarette I smoke I'm giving $100 to the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think-tank. And tank is a decent metaphor, though I might have gone with burning bag of turd. This does not apply to anything alcoholic. But it does apply to EVERYTHING else. Sorghum or sorghum syrup.

Confessions of a Former Marriage Equality Activist - But What do I Know?
http://samofthesea.livejournal.com/29505.html
Confessions of a Former Marriage Equality Activist. With all of the excitement around same-sex marriage these days, I've been seriously evaluating where I stand in the matter. When I was married to a woman with Multiple Sclerosis. When I was a hard-and-fast-in-your-face-equality-or-b. Ust activist riding across the U.S. heartland on the Marriage Equality Express Caravan with 48 other activists. Not much difference when I really look at it, distinct from whatever my personal beliefs or ideals may be.

This is Insane. Fantastic. But Insane! I thought the damn thing was about to blow up or something, so I jumped out of the car. She says, dragging her friend over to me, "this is Sheeva - she works with my brother, and she wants to know if you're available.". I look at her dumbly. What does she mean, am I available? I'm HER assistant - I'm available if she says I am. But I was waaaaay off. You know - she wants to set you up with someone! In a fun and fantastic way.but still! Its all about the ladies.

Once upon a time, public restrooms made sense. Terror strums in my gut, vibrating uncomfortably near my over-full bladder. My hand sits frozen on the door handle and I push my ear toward the door, listening for sounds of someone inside. It's no problem if someone comes in while I'm safely hidden away in a stall, but the idea of seeing his face as I enter or exit the restroom has my blood running in cold pins and needles through my veins. Sitting in the stall in the men's room, I feel at home. I'm ind...

It's empty. - But What do I Know?

Tomorrow's my last day. I cleaned out everything that belongs to me, and I feel so out of place. This has been my home for over 7 years.and now it's.well, it's empty. Once upon a time, this space was filled with files, cards and notes from friends and family, photos of people I love. Once upon a time, this space belonged to me. Moving - But What do I Know?
http://samofthesea.livejournal.com/29867.html
Well, we're pretty sure we've settled on the place we're moving into. It's on the corner of Duboce and Church.across from Out of the Closet and Safeway in the Castro. The N stops right outside the front door, and there is NO street noise in the apartment, but a view of Twin Peaks from our bedroom! I have waited for so long to move back to the city, back to my home in the Castro.the world is seeming right again! I'm less than 3 weeks away (yikes - time to get packing! I can't wait for May 2!
