Live Peace Morocco: Weather conditions cause devastation as authorities struggle to address the humanitarian crisis

http://livepeacemorocco.blogspot.com/2009/02/weather-conditions-cause-devastation-as.html

Friday, February 13, 2009. Weather conditions cause devastation as authorities struggle to address the humanitarian crisis. There are always so many people so much less fortunate than ourselves, but sometimes it takes someone-you-know's life to be affected before you realize your good fortune. Let's try not to live that way. February 13, 2009 at 2:52 AM. You have really great taste on catch article titles, even when you are not interested in this topic you push to read it. Live Peace Morocco: Jbel Toubkal

http://livepeacemorocco.blogspot.com/2009/09/jbel-toubkal.html

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. A couple of weeks ago, I climbed a VERY BIG mountain! Jbel (meaning mountain in Arabic) Toubkal is in the High Atlas Mountains in the south of Morocco. It is the tallest mountain in North Africa.and I climbed it! I had never attempted anything like this, but somehow I didn't have any doubt I could do it. I guess I've always been kind of like that - "I can do anything! It was so Gorgeous up there! Villages tucked into the mountains on our way up. September 29, 2009 at 6:29 PM.

http://livepeacemorocco.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 11, 2008. Awesome. I visited about 6 other families homes as well and think I had about 15 glasses of tea that day. I think I'm the only person in the country (minus our vegetarian friends) that has eaten no sheep in the past few days. Here are a few more pictures from my parents trip :). Lots of Love to you all as the season unwinds. Friday, December 5, 2008. A Life Update :). So much has happened. and I haven't kept you all updated! I'm really not sure where to start. Adventures of a Twentysomething: November 2009

http://lizwhitton.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Twentysomething. As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are, otherwise you will miss most of your life." - Buddha. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Saying goodbye, travel plans and updates. In a week, I leave site. How do I say goodbye to a village that has fed me, cared for me, and taught me what a textbook cannot? Just how will I get to Amerikah? I will be sailing the ocean blue, like Columbus, sharing the voyage with 19 other RPCVs! Instead of the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, the shi...

Adventures of a Twentysomething. As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are, otherwise you will miss most of your life." - Buddha. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. The loooong summer days. Summer is here and so far so good. In these long hours of daylight, I have found many ways to keep myself busy. And in just 5 short days I will be with Mom and Ellen in London! But before I leave for London, one big thing needs to be accomplished. My PCPP grant needs to be filled. I am $288 away from my goal! Volunteers w...

Readjusting to the “Do-It-Yourself” Culture. How do I work it? Will you do it for me? The rough scrubbing glove). I want to hold onto as much of Morocco as I can while starting a life for myself below the Mason-Dixon line—some sort of Southern-Moroccan fusion. I thought I would have more figured out by now. Adventures of a Twentysomething: Ahhh, Fall

Adventures of a Twentysomething. As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are, otherwise you will miss most of your life." - Buddha. Sunday, October 11, 2009. I love fall. Gone is the oppressiveness of summer, Ramadan, and nights full of noisy celebrations. In style, currently: sunny days with a slight chill in the air, busy days and leisurely nights, and my favorite fruit season—pomegranates and apples. Occasionally, I pause to stare at the hills and wonder if snow will fall before I leave—in ...

Adventures of a Twentysomething: March 2009

Adventures of a Twentysomething. As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are, otherwise you will miss most of your life." - Buddha. Thursday, March 19, 2009. One of the best parts of my training outside Ouarzazate was being able to sit in my host family’s courtyard and stare at all the stars in the night sky. There, on the cusp of the Sahara, they were a sight to see. My mountains’ stars just do not hold that same beauty. So it was a pleasure to be back under the desert sky. Enjoying not sitting on ...

We'll start with our trip to Fes, and then talk about our trip down south. Get out of the way! And merchants trying to get your attention. Of course, the...

Emily and Jon in Morocco. A Place Where Friends and Family Can Better Understand Our Experience in Morocco. Saturday, June 5, 2010. A Paper Making Tale. This is a story (a very long one) about how I came to work with handmade paper and the women of the Al-Falah Women's Cooperative. It's a meandering tale of a Peace Corps project that started a year and a half ago and which in many ways is only just beginning. It's a story with many twists and turns (and pictures! At that time I had just sworn in as a vol...
