Alarmed by the growing toll of the disease on local families, taxpayers, health care providers and others, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors created the project in 2014. While other parts of the nation have launched similar initiatives, none appear to match the San Diego County effort in scale and ambition. The Project’s key goals:. Cure - enhance awareness, partnerships and funding for Alzheimer’s research. Care - improve services for those affected by the disease.
