Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Crossing the Nullarbor Plain was an experience. We are the proud owners of a bumper sticker saying "we have crossed the Nullarbor." Monday, March 11, 2013. Located near Port Lincoln is an amazing historic reserve called Whalers Way. The name comes from the close association with whaling operations carried out in the Sleaford Bay. A permit is required to enter which can be obtained from the Port Lincoln Tourist Centre. The brochure claims that the area has the oldest rocks in South Australia located at Cape Carnot. Thursday, May 26, 2011. Our family spent a lovely weekend at Wombeyan Caves. We cheated and stayed in a dorm to avoid packing up tents in the rain. Bushfires even got into the story due to the smoke colouring some cave features. Options at the caves include camping. cabins or dorms. We stayed in the dorms. Cheap, clean and rain proof. You still use communal toilets and there is no kitchen nearby. You can use the camp kitchen. We brought our own stove which proved very useful. Thursday, May 12, 2011.
