Two Families Moving To and Living In Ecuador. While Taking A Shower. Hindsight is so much better than foresight! You ever wish you could turn back the clock, but keep the knowledge you’ve gleaned over the years? That’s when hindsight kicked in. When we packed up for Ecuador last January we knew we had very little space on the plane. So we got rid of nearly everything to lighten our load. Books took the greatest hit. Imagine reducing your present library to 20-30 most essential books! Which would you keep?
April | 2011 | livinginecuador

Two Families Moving To and Living In Ecuador. Monthly Archives: April 2011. Monday, April 18, was a milestone for us. We rented our first apartment! House (or apartment) hunting is not an easy chore here in Cuenca, at least for our group. There are many things to consider, especially when we do not have our own transportation, like:. Air quality (diesel buses, used heavily around here, can really make the air heavy with fumes). Basic shopping needs (since we are on foot). Annette and I decided to remain ...

Two Families Moving To and Living In Ecuador. What Happened Last Month? Our Trip To The Dentist. It started with a toothache. Both Annette’s and my teeth were not in good shape. Years of rich foods when we were younger have taken their toll in our later years. Both of us had broken teeth, but we couldn’t afford to have them fixed. So the time came when Annette could not handle the pain anymore. Something had to be done. The technicians looked at the requisition from Dr. Elena and took Annette in righ...

Two Families Moving To and Living In Ecuador. Our Trip To The Dentist. Understanding What Missionaries Do →. What Happened Last Month? Many are wondering what happened last month. We didn’t post anything. Were we all right? So here’s a recap. This isn’t to say that great deals cannot still be found. The more astute shoppers can still find steals or know how to bargain with the locals to get prices down to more expected levels. This works also with daily shopping. But now back to May. The grocery bill for...

Two Families Moving To and Living In Ecuador. A Hernia Operation in a Third World Country. While Taking A Shower →. Paul Williams Returned To The States Friday. We met Paul, 74 years old, the first of the week, while on our way to pick up our laundry. He was sitting on a bench in the courtyard of our apartment building soaking up some sunlight. He did not look very well. The usual questions followed. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT BROUGHT YOU DOWN HERE? Paul Williams, 74. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE IN CUENCA?

Living in EcstaSea
Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Okay, I know it's been a long time coming.this last post of the season. Somehow in the busyness of putting Ecstasea up for the winter and traveling back to the States, I lost motivation and inspiration. But wanting to get it done, here goes. It was not with us when we left Mallorca, but here it was now. Our usual annual selfie on the sea wall in old Ibiza town:. And watching all of the old hippies on Ibiza drum the sun down in Binneara's Cove:. And then we had our usual spec...

Host-Family in Quito - Home
This website intends to directly make contact. Between people that are interested in spending some time living in Quito, be it for studying Spanish, work, holidays, volunteer work etc., and a wonderful Ecuadorian family. Ecuador is a remarkable country. Which has left me with many impressions, which I will never forget in my life. My desire is to give others the opportunity to experience the amazing landscape, the interesting culture and the friendly people that I found when I first came to Ecuador.

Living in Eden, Australia
Living in Eden, Australia. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. It was 41 degrees Celcius in Eden today! No wonder it was getting to be a bit much. So we went down to the beach for an evening swim. It was so nice! The water was just right, although the air still felt like a furnace an hour later. Evening Swim at Asling's Beach. Friday, December 10, 2010. Feet were made for walking. This man says he loves walking, so the distance from Pambula to Eden was not a worry to him, though it takes 10 to 15 minutes by car.
Living in the city...
