Living Joyfully at Home: {from the school room} week of Oct 29th

http://www.livingjoyfullyathome.blogspot.com/2012/11/from-school-room-week-of-oct-29th.html

From the school room} week of Oct 29th. Let me share a bit about our oldest. Samantha is fifteen and in the tenth grade. She is an avid reader, loves horses, is writing a book, and is a great big sister. Samantha has a works for a neighbor each afternoon. She has been very diligent with this job, which this week included riding there in the pouring rain and cleaning pastures for an hour. When she arrived home, she was soaked and I did not hear a complaint. She enjoys helping her siblings learn. Hope you ...

Living Joyfully at Home: {from the school room}

http://www.livingjoyfullyathome.blogspot.com/2012/10/from-school-room.html

From the school room}. This week we finished up unit five in our Heart of Dakota guides. I've been meaning to post about our homeschool since laying out our curriculum plan for the year, but haven't gotten to it yet. Today, I found this blogroll. For HOD homeschoolers. With this encouragement, I thought I'll give it a go, so here is a rundown of our week. I think it would be fun to read them wheel on the school. She enjoys memorizing her verses, singing, poetry, art-what a joy to watch her learning.

From the schoolroom} week of oct 21. This week Ethan and Alyssa completed unit 7 of. Bigger Hearts for His Glory. A snapshot of our weeks learning. History: Read about the pioneers living in Holland. They have been there many years and are now thinking of moving to America, where they'll be able to own farms and live in their own communities. Geography: They looked on our globe and found the Netherlands, England, and America. We are still learning the 'middle states' and placing them on our US map. Lastl...

Duckygirl's Place: June 2014

http://recipesforhappiness.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 7, 2014. When Google reader ceased to exist I pretty much ditched blogging. Most friends were on Facebook and that coupled with a busy life just kind of took over. But I miss blogs. I miss people sharing what's happening in their lives beyond a one sentence status. To jump back in I'm going to just start with a glimpse of today. Nicholas is almost 16 months now and not quite walking yet, though I keep catching him standing on his own and he's sure cruising along furniture fast! Now I'm off...

Duckygirl's Place: August 2015

http://recipesforhappiness.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 9, 2015. It's time again for brand new crayons and fresh packs of paper. New notebooks, sharpened pencils. I'm in planning mode again for the new school year. Our official start day, Lord willing, will be August 24th. I usually have high expectations and grand plans of what we'll accomplish, we'll see how far we get. My motto for our year (that I plan to print out and stick on the wall) is:. The only way to keep chaff out. Child's cup is to. Fill it brimful with. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://recipesforhappiness.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 11, 2015. I hadn't noticed just how far my heart had drifted. At the beginning of March we closed our resale shop and the kids and I are home full time again. During one of the first weeks I posted a picture to Facebook of my kids surrounding the dining room table doing their schoolwork. I sat at the end of the table with tears in my eyes.feeling complete joy. Joy that I hadn't felt in a long, long time. Being home is good. Really good. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Introducing the newest member of our family:. Born February 18th, 5:38 pm. Weight 7 lbs 8 oz. If you are anything like me than you're probably just a wee bit curious too hear how the birth went, so here goes. Friday and Saturday I had mild contractions kind of sporadically during the day only for them to come to a complete stop by Saturday evening. Sunday we got up went to church and went about our day pretty normally. In the next few minutes waiting for the anesthesiologist I...

http://recipesforhappiness.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 2, 2013. Hello, my name is Laura and today I'm a wreck. Struggling with feeling like a failure in every part of life. Homeschooling, not thorough enough/consistent.not enough past the 'basics'. Our store, will it be successful? My health.I know I just had a baby, but I have a bunch to lose. I feel like I have a face that everyone sees, this put together calm non-frazzled person. Ha! I stress, I yell, I cry. So I remind myself:. Every morning, great is your faithfulness.”. Duckygirl's Place: July 2014

http://recipesforhappiness.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 31, 2014. Fishing, swimming, boating. S'mores around the fire. Mosquito bites and sunburns. Can't wait to do it all again. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Today I am 33 years old. Age is a funny thing, like time. One moment it can seem like it's happening way too slowly and the next moment it can seem like it's rushing by. How am I old enough to be nearing the birth of our twelfth child? A friend commented something the other day on this photo:. And it really made me think. 1 Timothy 6:17 NIV).

Living Joyful

Because God is good, period. What's in the name? Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Twenty years. One important thing. I've been reading a book, recently. I think I gave this book to 14 friends for Christmas. It's called 100 days to brave. Sometimes you pick a word for the year and run with it, you know? I've been doing my best to read this book, but I'm not a superhero, so I truly read it only a few times a week. 100 days to brave is about to turn into 300 days to brave, but it's fine. Today, February 27th, ma...

The musings of a girl after God's own heart…. Posted in Random thoughts. I will never…. 1 Run a marathon. I’ll leave this to all you runners out there. My body just wasn’t made to endure such long distances. I don’t even care if it’s just a 10K. 2 Own a pair of gladiator sandals… or Crocs. There have been plenty of fads that I have succumbed to in my past, but I honestly don’t get the gladiator sandal. I am neither a Spartan or an actor in “. I will pass. And crocs? Well they’re just ugly. 7 Own a cat.

Living Joyfully old

Find Me Elsewhere / Contact Me! Wisdom From the Elderly. I've had the opportunity to work several hours a week with a sweet older couple in their nineties. They were high school sweethearts, he is a World War 2 veteran, they had 7 children, and were missionaries in two countries. While getting to spend time with them, I've learned a few things about their life that applies to someone of any age. First, growing old is a choice. Second, no one ever really figures it out. Third, people don't change with age.
