Taste and see that the Lord is good! Corn tortillas (I used Mission brand). Ground chuck (I used Angus, 20% fat content). Taco Seasoning (I used Fiesta brand). Manteca (Lard) (Ok, you can use vegetable oil, but they won’t be Granny’s). Diced onion (dice your own or buy pre diced at your local grocery store). Shredded cheese (I used Kroger Mexican Blend ). Old El Paso Enchilada Sauce, mild. You will also need:. Oven heated to 350 F. 2 medium to large mixing bowls, one for raw beef, one for cooked beef.

Taste and see that the Lord is good! I love Jesus, my cats, writing, music, NPR, Sherlock Holmes, books and baking, roughly in that order. I fit the general criteria for spinsterhood but like to think I'm more fun than that might imply. Posts by Susan Ellingburg:. September 13, 2013. August 18, 2013. August 4, 2013. July 28, 2013. Taste and see that the Lord is good! Laquo; A Dresser Reborn. August 18, 2013 by Susan. I was going to show you one of the fun projects I’ve been working on lately, but my camera has gone MIA. And since my semi-intelligent phone is smart enough to take photos, but its semi-intelligent owner can’t figure out how to get the photos off said phone, I’m having to go illustration-free until the camera comes out of hiding. 3 cups unbleached flour. Teaspoon Instant (or Rapid Rise) yeast. In a large mixing bowl, ...

Taste and see that the Lord is good! Laquo; Daily Bread. September 13, 2013 by Susan. The proper name is Fresh Apple Cake, but we don’t call it that anymore. One might think the name comes from last Thanksgiving, when I traded Kerri a cake for a batch of her insanely delicious homemade rolls. We met in a deserted parking lot early on Thanksgiving morning to make a trunk-to-trunk transfer, giggling all the while about how sketchy it looked. You can serve it with cream cheese frosting mostly because you ca...

Taste and see that the Lord is good! Laquo; 7-Up Cake (Revisited). August 4, 2013 by Susan. After years of languishing in storage, this lovely dresser came to me by way of my friend Paula. It wasn’t quite so lovely when I got it, and it had a few problemslike a broken mirror. So I fixed it. A little glue (and stuff) and it’ll all better soon. Then I sanded it, stained it, painted the knobs, and put it back together. And . . . Paint makes so many things look better. I didn’t like it. Beautiful job; Paula&...

Taste and see that the Lord is good! Laquo; Backsplash Redo. July 28, 2013 by Susan. Since it’s midsummer, hot as blazes, and this is just about the best dessert I know of on a hot day…. Since I messed up the last time and left out a major ingredient in the recipe…. And sincewell, just because. Here’s a (corrected and updated) recipe for…. 1 package Vanilla Instant Pudding. 1 can Crushed Pineapple. Store in refrigerator. On a hot day, a chunk of this cold cake is perfection on a plate. Bread Cravings — Solved! Water Kefir Grains Arrived! Livin’ for Deep Fried Okra (to the tune of Livin’ La Vida Loca). All posts from Winter! Well, I was craving meatloaf again last night and brought out the Paleo Italian Meatloaf. Recipe I shared earlier. And I think that 3/4 cup of almond flour is too much. I know now that I used 1/4 cup when I made it the first time, but thought I was losing it. Paleo Italian Meatloaf - Revised. Use the kind with no HFCS. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. When onions are tr...

Friday, December 12, 2014. Homemade DIY Christmas Craft For Kids. We made these fun things as a part of OB's Christmas homework. Obviously, mommy had more fun than him :). This one's made of used folder cut into shape and decorated with multicolor round stickers. The star is cut out of a clean menu from a restaurant. OB had lots of fun adding the colorful baubles all over the tree. These are made of used box and the remaining of the folder :). Did you make anything this Christmas? Show me, show me. HK$6x...

Living La Vida Suburbia | The decidedly un-incredible tales of one girl navigating through the post-grad waste land.
The decidedly un-incredible tales of one girl navigating through the post-grad waste land. Living La Vida Suburbia. A Midsummer Night’s Love/Shun List! What better way to kick off the new era of LLVS than with a good ol’ list of unsolicited opinions? What a Difference a Year Makes. We Need to Talk About Theon. It’s time I explained myself. For as long as I have been a diehard Game of Thrones fan (basically since the moment I set eyes on it), I have been defending my steadfast fondness for the often-r...

Living La Vida Thrifty. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Monday, February 22, 2010. Falling short of my goal of $2.46 daily average. Sunday, February 21, 2010. 20 in rolled change was an exchange with someone for a piece of folding money. But it still goes in the piggy! Wednesday, February 17, 2010. The penny was actually found money - when I got out of the car at Target, I looked down and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a bright shiny penny from I don't know what year! Do you ever find any?
