Absolutely necessary to prepare for any big hike. Pictures may be forthcoming. Finished my last paper of the semester. Most final gear purchases (list forthcoming).

On the road! | Traverse Japan

Coast to Coast, all the peaks over 3000m, August 2010. Storm Before the Calm: Heading Out in Less than a Week. August 2, 2010. First off, I must apologize for the lack of substantive pre-departure updates. Suffice to say, Ive learned a lot about packing and planning for a month long hike with 4 postal resupplies! But, looking out on ripe rice fields as I speed towards the coast, I feel the irrational and insatiable optimism that has birthed faith and progress into the world, and I feel that everything is...

My foray into expat life in Cambodia (and back), one glorious haphazard step at a time. Friday, December 26, 2014. Documenting a walk (drive): An afternoon in B'more. December 30, 2014 at 7:50 AM. Beautiful light coming through those windows! I find the mornings are easiest, afternoons can be sleepy and relaxed, but right around 4pm it becomes a sprint to the finish line before all hell breaks loose! Funny how little has changed even as my boys get older. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Drop Me A Line.

Anchors Adrift: The sun
http://anchorsadrift.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-sun.html
My foray into expat life in Cambodia (and back), one glorious haphazard step at a time. Sunday, January 18, 2015. We took M to Los Angeles (and Portland) for a three-week holiday. I'm still thinking of the time spent with my family in California, the sunshine, the ocean, the tamale-filled festivities. One day, while staying at my sister's house, we walked to the neighborhood pokē. There are other things I'm thinking about, some more frivolous than others, but someone is calling for me. And my time is up.

My foray into expat life in Cambodia (and back), one glorious haphazard step at a time. Saturday, February 14, 2015. Portland recap and this space. Well, hello. I haven't checked into this space in a while. It's not for lack of trying, but I admit it has been a struggle to keep up this work-life-baby balance. Most days, I prioritize any extra minutes of sleep I can sneak in. But I've been in DC for nearly two years! Does this make me a bad mother? I joke, but I'm somewhat serious.
