Wishing on a Snowflake: February 2014
http://www.wishingonasnowflake.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Embryo Adoption: Where to start? Thursday, February 27, 2014. A trip to the emergency room. It wasn't due to bleeding or anything baby related, I don't want to worry anyone. This off-balance pregnant lady with a bigger-than-usual belly stepped off of a perfectly normal curb on a perfectly normal day in perfectly flat shoes and rolled her ankle at lunch yesterday! So there's my exciting adventure that took me into my next milestone.I'm 17 weeks today! Tuesday, February 25, 2014. What kind of mom will I be?

Coffee and Tea: January 2015
http://coffeeandteafamily.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. As many people know, one of the biggest societal measures of whether a white parent is really doing a "good job" raising a black (or mixed) child is hair. I'm not saying this is the right. But I don't control the outside world. And for the outside world, I know, hair is Important. Did any of you see that scene in Orange is the New Black where Suzanne/Crazy Eyes is at the hospital meeting her new baby sister, and the nurse does her hair? I think Bean looks beautiful. I've g...

Coffee and Tea: Why Are All These People Black?
http://coffeeandteafamily.blogspot.com/2015/08/why-are-all-these-people-black.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. Why Are All These People Black? A couple of weeks ago, Monkey asked me why all of the bus drivers at his camp were black. I didn't really know how answer him in an age-appropriate way, so I kind of deflected the question. But it bothered me that I didn't have an answer. I was a bit let down, but I figured I'd let him process the information in bits and pieces. By following his lead, I can explain things as he's ready. At least it was a good start. Is the time he's starting to not...

Hope Deferred: June 2015

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life" Proverbs 13:12. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life" Proverbs 13:12. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Sorry I haven't updated for a while but I have a good reason to today- baby girl is coming out tomorrow! Even though I've been through it before, a C-section is a scary thing. The boys are excited. Today at my Bible study we were praying for the baby and Connor started yelling "Baby sister!

Wishing on a Snowflake: May 2014

Embryo Adoption: Where to start? Wednesday, May 28, 2014. I'm 29w6d today which means tomorrow I turn the big 3-0 (weeks, that is.) I make big milestones out of pretty much anything because I am just so excited and grateful for this life growing inside of my tummy. Every single day is a celebration. And of course we saw her cross her legs at the ankles which seems to be her trademark pose in there. We're convinced this is going to be her sleeping pose when she becomes an outside baby. We are still chasin...

Sunshine and Snowflakes: October 2014
http://desertsnowflakes.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Faith, Infertility, Embryo Adoption, Parenting, Life, etc. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Last week, I was feeling curmudgeonly about Halloween. My feelings of irritation toward its existence occupied way more space in my mind than it needed to. On Thursday morning when I had some free time before Matthew woke up, I even blogged about it. Now, I can't spend any energy at all thinking about Halloween. By Tuesday and Wednesday (days 3 and 4), the rash had gone away but the fever remained and I noticed he was...

Wishing on a Snowflake: March 2014

Embryo Adoption: Where to start? Monday, March 31, 2014. Winner, winner chicken dinner! And PS, I don't think it's the pills causing this because I've been on these exact same pills for far longer than I've been pregnant. No issues until just recently. I'm not complaining, I'm so grateful to be in this position to even ask this question, but I'm wondering if anyone else ran into something similar? Only after-dinner nausea and vomiting? Friday, March 28, 2014. The official nursery reveal! Crib - Amazon - ...

Wishing on a Snowflake: I have been so, so busy.
http://www.wishingonasnowflake.com/2014/09/i-have-been-so-so-busy.html
Embryo Adoption: Where to start? Thursday, September 11, 2014. I have been so, so busy. I am finally settling into "normal" life as a mom with a new baby. It's incredible being a mom and now that I finally have this VLCAD thing not looming overhead, I'm able to really savor it! I'm so glad she's okay and I'm happy to be busy with her even though it means my blog posts will likely suffer a little bit! What am I up to other than the obvious things related to caring for a sweet little baby? I've also been b...
