Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Ministry vs. Career (what's your perspective). I've heard many people refer to their role as an officer by many different names. Pastor (aren't we much more than that) or Administrator (may God forgive us) are 2 common descriptions of the calling we have received. I guess what it boils down to is this: What shape do you see your role as an Army officer taking? DO I SMELL SMOKE?

Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. At the Rochester Corps we have adapted the word S.E.E.D.S to help us fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army in our community:. S- Seek. We believe that God wants all of us to seek out the hurting, the lonely, and those who need our assistance. This includes the poor, the elderly, the single parent, the troubled teenager, and many others in our community. D-Disciple. Our co...

Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Wednesday, October 04, 2006. I'm ok you're ok gospel.beep! Let's pick out one verse and exposition and assume for 2 hours.beep! But my radar caught a concept that I wanted to pose to you today."We are called to love one another. We are called to love one another how we need to be loved not necessarily how we want to be loved" Hmm.let's ponder. Do we deal with surface issues or real issues? So, my question...

Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Thursday, September 14, 2006. I MAY BE FLOGGED AND MOBBED FOR THIS. Question, what is the exact moment we lose our vision for ministry and begin adapting the idea that I've been there done that.I've put in my time.I don't do that anymore, I've worked hard enough I shouldn't HAVE to do that? Posted by Nicole Marietta @ 10:00 AM. Tuesday, September 05, 2006. Seeing God's hand in even the simplest ways.

Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Tuesday, April 25, 2006. DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL". This quote was used frequently by one of my models of ministry at the SFOT. A time when we feel emotionally detached from God, but in our heads and deepest recesses of our souls know He is there. I've felt this the past few weeks and what a sad time to experience it.during the celebration of Resurrection Day! How did you work through it? So, here is my que...

Ok, so I know it hasn't quite been a full week, but I need to get on the M-F schedule here. Know that you can post on the previous week's question, I check all the posts for new comments. Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Thursday, March 30, 2006. PART 5: A FEW GOOD MEN? I wonder if other churches are facing the same dilemma today.there are missing pieces in our fellowships: men, boys, fathers, and grandfathers. What has caused this drift away from our churches? Could it be lack of service opportunities in line with their gifts? Could it be lack of programs/ministry geared specifically for these groups? How do we on the fi...

Reflections on the Word, the work, and daily ministry from a Salvation Army Officer's point of view. Friday, June 23, 2006. So what if there are a million energy assistance groups out there, we've got to do it! So what if there are other resources that we can plug into that dare I say do things better than us.we've got to do it! Sadly, we see so much burn out because we want to do things better, bigger, and with our name on it.we miss the valiant efforts of many un-uniformed soldiers. Crossroads Have you...
