The Work Process - Small Notebook
http://smallnotebook.org/2011/10/31/the-work-process
I was feeling impatient with our home renovation. I just wanted it to be done. But as I was looking at these pictures, I think I’ve changed my mind. Doug didn’t grow up with his dad around, but by God’s grace everything turned out fine. 8220;Do you think he’ll remember this? 8221; Doug asks me about Tom. 8220;I don’t know, but I think it will be a part of him even if he can’t remember it.”. I like how this house is becoming a way of telling our family’s story. October 31, 2011. Have a great day, Rachel!

I Can't Like It, Mommy. I’ve been sitting on this post a while. Partly because it’s a hard topic, and partly because I’ve been away from the blog for so long that I’m not sure anyone will even see it. It’s happening whether I write about it or not. My mom has cancer. Bronchoalveolar carcinoma, to be exact. And much to our surprise, she didn’t lose all of her hair and never had to wear the wigs she had on stand-by. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Lake Fun ». 17 thoughts on “ Enough. Thanks, ...

I Can't Like It, Mommy. I sing songs to Owen each night when I put him to bed. One of our favorites to sing together is one that goes like this:. I love you Owen, oh yes I do;. I love you Owen, and I’ll be true. When you’re not with me, I’m blue;. Oh, Owen I love you! Anyone know the tune? It’s very catchy. I learned it in college, for some strange reason. I have memories of running down the halls in the dorm and singing that song to various people before bed? Favorite food is dattuwauce (applesauce)....

The Church of No People. What sermon would a pastor preach…if no one showed up to church? Real Marriage: The 1950s, Pre-Feminism Kind. Real Marriage: The 1950s, Pre-Feminism Kind. January 11, 2012. Okay, I’ve got to say this. Because there’s a new book about marriage, and no one would care about it except that Mark Driscoll and his wife, Grace, wrote it. And, as with all things Driscoll-related,. On the other sidewell, I haven’t heard anyone actually. The book. I mean, come on, Grace used. It’s just got ...

One Word 2012 | From My Pen
https://randomreporter.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/one-word-2012
Learning. Growing. Becoming. January 11, 2012. I was standing in our dining room, sorting papers on the table and thinking about my year of grace. I wonder what my word for 2012 should be? It was there. A word popped into my head, seemingly out of nowhere. Pffft I can’t pick that word, I thought,. Almost laughing out loud. Where did this come from? It’s just not fitting for me and my I’ll-stay-behind-the-scenes-please personality. Maybe my fear of the word is the very reason I should pick it. I havenR...
