Living with MCS

Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Louisa St. Wharf. Still thinking about staying longer in New Mexico. During a lull between customers, P. showed me around the house. It’s mostly made of wood, upstairs and downstairs, spacious, a little messy, and unlike S.’ house, not covered in foil or any other obvious signs of an MCS inhabitant. She also has no rules about showering or washing, just that we check our soap and shampoo with her for fragrance reaction. Louisa St. Wharf. Louisa St. Wharf. Back to the Real World.

Living with MCS: Back to the Real World

http://livingwithmcsinnyc.blogspot.com/2008/01/back-to-real-world.html

Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Back to the Real World. I wonder sometimes, not having come close to death, can I really see that? I am constantly switching back, second-guessing my ability to continue on in the normal world. Looking for a reasonable middle path. There was a piece in the Times today about regret and resilience and how people develop psychological "complexity" in the wake of a lost future that can never materialize the way one planned. Louisa St. Wharf. June 20, 2008 at 8:06 PM.

Living with MCS: Trading in the Car

http://livingwithmcsinnyc.blogspot.com/2008/01/trading-in-car.html

Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Trading in the Car. This is a classic MCS problem, how chemicals in the world stand in your way. And a plea for some car rental company out there somewhere to stop spraying old cars with "new car smell", and stop hanging those fake pine air freshener trees from the mirror. Those things are filled with neurotoxins. Http:/ www.courier-journal.com/blogs/bruggers/2007/12/toxic-air-fresheners.html. Http:/ www.newmexicoecocasitas.com/. Determined to save her home, she is not homeless,...

Living with MCS: November 2007

http://livingwithmcsinnyc.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 28, 2007. The journey begins-Santa Fe. So, I’ve begun my journey in search of clean air. The overarching question is – is there really a place I can go and feel different, feel healthier, have my energy and brain function more fully restored? A lot of people with MCS come to the southwest on this search. What will I find here? What would it be like to live among other MCS people? Some friends bought this house for her, and she was able to renovate it for her MCS needs. This meant ...

LIVING WITH MAX by Sandy Lewis

LIVING WITH MAX by Sandy Lewis. A humourous, yet honest peek into the world of Special Needs, and living with Down's syndrome. Friday, 5 February 2010. When someone you love dies, you realise there is an end. Such a basic concept, part of life, but one we fail to consider until grief blows its chilling wind. Death of a loved one changes everything. It bleeds into every nook and cranny, stains memories and silences dreams. Who are we without the ones we love? The shock never goes away, for me anyway. ...
